摘要： An embodiment of the present invention is a technique to fabricate a package substrate. The package substrate includes top substrate layers, an array capacitor, and bottom substrate layers. The top substrate layers embed micro-vias. The micro-vias have a micro-via area and provide electrical connections between the top substrate layers. The array capacitor structure is placed in contact with the micro-via area. The array capacitor structure is electrically connected to the micro-vias. The bottom substrate layers are formed on the array capacitor structure.

摘要： A transaction processing audit and recovery system is disclosed. After processing a transaction, an audit manager logs in audit records only changed blocks of data of a segment of a database. Upon failure of database backing storage, a prior copy of the database is reloaded to database backing storage that is available and a recovery manager reads the audit records and copies the changed blocks back to the database backing storage. An outboard file cache system is used in conjunction with the recovery manager to recover the database. The outboard file cache provides cache storage for segments of the database and writes non-contiguous blocks of one or more segments as directed in a single input/output request initiated from the recovery manager.

摘要： Legacy database engines may be extended through the use of callback extension handlers on the client. For example, regular expression matching and arbitrary user-functions may be implemented in a legacy database engine without replacing the engine. A pattern string may be provided to the legacy database engine by a client with a pattern matching prefix. When the legacy database engine encounters the prefix, the database engine executes a callback to the client with a value from the database for pattern matching. The client performs the pattern matching through, for example, regular expressions, and returns a match status to the database engine. The process may be repeated for several rows of a table in the database and a dataset compiled by the database engine and returned to the client.
