    • A highly reliable light-emitting device or lighting device is provided. Further, a light-emitting device or lighting device with a high manufacturing yield is provided. Provided is a light-emitting device having a contact structure which includes a separation layer having a shape typified by a reverse tapered shape in which an outline of the bottom portion is inside an outline of an upper portion and which utilizes the difference between an amount of a light-emitting layer extending inside the outline and that of an upper electrode extending inside the outline. Further, when the outline of the separation layer which forms the contact portion has a depression and a projection, the length of the contact portion can be increased, and thus, contact resistance can be reduced.

    • A disc cartridge which is capable of effectively preventing undesirable and deteriorating recording and playback characteristics of an optical disc accommodated and retained therein due to the effects of dust particles and other foreign materials being adhered to the surfaces of the optical disc. In accordance therewith, shock relieving or sealing members close a gap between the shutter and the case of the disc cartridge to prevent dust particles and other foreign materials from intruding onto the surfaces of the optical disc. In addition, sheet-like members are provided in this disc cartridge for cleaning the surfaces of the optical disc.

    • An optical disc device 60 prevents intrusion of foreign matter such as dust and dirt into a disc cartridge 1 that has a main cartridge body unit 4 for rotatably housing an optical disc 5, apertures 7, 8 for partially exposing a signal recording area of the optical disc 5 and a shutter member 9 movably mounted on the main cartridge body unit for closing the apertures 7, 8. The optical disc device also includes a loading mechanism 76 for loading the disc cartridge 1 across the inside and the outside of the main body portion of the device, a shutter actuating unit 154 for moving the shutter member 9 for opening the recording/reproducing apertures 7, 8 when the disc cartridge 1 is loaded on the recording/reproducing unit adapted for recording and/or reproducing information signals and an optical pickup device 143 for intruding into the disc housing via the recording/reproducing aperture when the shutter member 9 has opened the recording/reproducing aperture.
