摘要： A liquid fuel combustion apparatus comprises a fuel tank, a wick partially immersed in fuel in thetank, and a combustion chamber enclosing the upper portion of the wick. The wick has two sections, one section being composed of a gasifying wick element of a glass fiber material which contains at least at the top portion thereof 80% or more of silica, alumina or a mixture thereof. The other section is a suction wick element having good fuel sucking properties. The wick may be integrally constituted of a glass fiber material which contains at least the top portion thereof 80% or more of silica, alumina or a mixture thereof. The combustion chamber preferably includes an inner cylinder, an outer cylinder and a red heat cylinder provided between the inner and outer cylinders.

摘要： A variable capacitor, wherein at least one of its stator or rotor electrode is made of aluminum alloy or copper alloy and coated with a thin dielectric material layer containing fluorocarbon resin as its principal component by means of baking, is disclosed. The disclosed variable capacitor is particularly suited for a miniaturization of an appliance which adopts this variable capacitor. Careful qualification of the electrode materials, dielectric material, additional dielectric substance, and conditions for performing the baking and layer forming operation prevent the formation of the oxide film over the surface of the electrode material, and thus ensures a firm adherence of the layer to the substrate and a large maximum capacitance of the layer.

摘要： An exhaust gas-purifying catalyst includes a support provided with one or more through-holes through which exhaust gas flows, and a catalytic layer supported by the support and containing an oxygen storage material. The exhaust gas-purifying catalyst includes a first section to which the exhaust gas is supplied, and a second section to which the exhaust gas having passed through the first section is supplied. The catalytic layer includes a layered structure of a first catalytic layer containing platinum and/or palladium and a second catalytic layer containing rhodium in the first catalytic section and further includes a third layer containing rhodium in the second section. The second section is smaller in oxygen storage material content per unit volumetric capacity than the first section.
