摘要： A rotational shaft receives drive power from an engine and a first motor, and drives front wheels through front clutches. A second motor drives rear wheels. The first motor and the second motor are supplied with electric power from a battery. A main ECU controls an electric vehicle mode in which the first clutches are disengaged, the supply of fuel to the engine is stopped, and the second motor drives the rear wheels to propel a hybrid vehicle, by dividing the electric vehicle mode into a first propulsion mode and a second propulsion mode. In the first propulsion mode, the first motor is de-energized. In the second propulsion mode, a load imposed on the second motor is greater than that of the first propulsion mode, and the first motor is supplied with electric power to rotate the rotational shaft at a predetermined speed.

In the engine control apparatus of the present invention, it is determined whether or not a vehicle is stopped. When the vehicle has stopped, it is determined whether or not it is possible to acquire road traffic information, for example, including traffic congestion information and the like, and traveling conditions information, for example, including the current position of the vehicle and information on a route to a destination. When it is possible to acquire this information, a determination is made as to whether or not the current position of the vehicle is within a traffic congested area based on the road traffic information and the traveling conditions information. If the vehicle is within a traffic congested area, stopping of the operation of the engine is prohibited.

The light guide plate (13) includes a light control mirror (19) electrically switchable to transmit light and to reflect light. At least one of the light from the light source (11) and the outside light exits from the one principal surface of the light guide plate (13). The light passes through the liquid crystal panel (16) and a character or an image is displayed.

摘要： Upon obtaining green light as wavelength converted light by causing infrared light to be incident on a wavelength conversion element, the absorption of the green light occurs due to the generation of ultraviolet light as sum-frequency light of the infrared light and the green light in the wavelength conversion element and the destruction of a crystal composing the wavelength conversion element occurs due to heat generated at this time. In a laser wavelength converter of the present invention, a condensed position of the infrared light in the wavelength conversion element is deviated from a position assumed to be optimal when the influence of the generated heat is ignored. Consequently, crystal destruction is suppressed, a high-efficiency wavelength conversion is enabled and high-output wavelength converted light exceeding several watts, which was difficult to attain in conventional wavelength conversion elements, is attained.
