    • PURPOSE:To prevent a fluctuation of the height of looper and the thickness of the strip, by correcting the roll gap and the revolution number of the roll adjoining to the looper correspondingly to the quantity of computed correction value for the roll gap. CONSTITUTION:The breadth deviation operator 22 operates the breadth deviation DELTAWi from the strip breadth Wi detected by breadth-meter 20 and the aimed breadth W0 inputted from outside; the rate of breadth variation DELTAWi/Wi is operated by the rate-of-breadth-variation operator 24. The function generator 26 produces a signal DELTAUt for the variation of the corresponding unit tension; depending on this signal DELTATt, the looper torque variation operator 28 operates the variation DELTAT of the torque, which is then inputted to the controller 18; thereby, the controller 18 changes the torque of the looper 16. On the other hand, the revolution number correction operator 30 operates the revolution number correction operator 30 operates the revolution number correction value DELTANi-1 for the roll of the upstream side rolling stand 10i-1; this correction value DELTANi-1 is inputted to the roll's revolution number controller 13 which thereby corrects the revolution number of said roll. Meanwhile, the roll gap correction operator 34 operates the roll gap correction value DELTASi for the roll of downstream side rolling stand 10i, and inputs it to the roll gap controller 14 which thereby corrects the roll gap of the downstream side rolling stand 10i.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the fluctuation of tension and to improve the dimensional accuracy of a strip, by raising a looper by a prescribed angle to detect the strip tension when the looper collides against the strip and controlling both the tension between stands and the height of the looper parallelly. CONSTITUTION:When a biting signal generates at a mill biting signal generator 24 in a rolling mill, a looper driving motor controlling device 26 instructs a looper driving motor 18 to raise the looper 16 by a prescribed angle through a speed controlling circuit 36. When a coillision between the looper 16 and a strip 14 is detected by a tension detector 30, the device 26 stops the control of the looper angle and starts strip tension control between stands. On the other hand, a command of the number of revolutions is outputted to a mill driving motor 20 from a mill driving motor controlling device 34 in accordance with an output generated by detecting the angle of the looper 16 with a looper angle detector 32 to start the control of the height of the looper 16 so that the looper angle is equal to the prescribed value.

    • PURPOSE:To roll separated slabs continuously and properly by cutting and separating the slab along the rolling direction at a place near by the 1st rolling machine in a rough rolling line. CONSTITUTION:In a rough rolling line of the hot strip mill, slabs, which came from a heating furnace 1, are fed into and are passed through a descaling equipment 6, and primary scales produced in the furnace 1 are removed by a jetting highly compressed water. Said slabs are then passed through a cutting equipment 2 for the slab and a separating equipment 3 successively, and the cutting and the separation of the slab are performed. Then, the slab are fed into the 1st horizontal rolling machine 5 and its following, and the rough rolling and the finish rolling are performed in an ordinary way. It is equally well to cut and separate the slabs just after the 1st horizontal rolling was performed. By this rolling line, a continuous casting capability is allowed to exhibit at maximum; further, the primary scales are removed efficiently, therefore, the occurrence of the defects of the edge of the strip and the like, is prevented.
