摘要： The present invention provides a method of driving an active matrix display device in which one frame comprises a plurality of sub-frames each comprising a write time and a hold time and gray scale driving is brought about by the cumulative effect of the hold times. Gray scale display driving is carried out by randomly scanning scan lines other than one predetermined scan line in a predetermined sequence in the hold time of each sub-frame corresponding to the one predetermined scan line so that any one sub-frame is not written to any one scan line more than once and one frame is such that in each of the scan lines, the writings and the hold time of each of the sub-frames is ensured to bring about gray scale display. Through this means, the frame period is shortened.

摘要： An image display device comprises a first storage device (4) for storing an image data, an image processor (8) for reducing the number of bits of the image data, a second storage device (10) for storing the image data after being processed, a display device (12) for displaying the image data after being processed, a driver (14) for driving the display device (12) and a controller (16) for controlling the operation of the driver (14). The controller (16) determines whether the image data stored in the first storage device (4) is dynamic or static, and, in the case of a static image, after storing the signals corresponding to one frame of the image data in the second storage device (10), operates only the second storage device (10), the driver (14) and the display device (12). Thereby, reduction of power consumption can be achieved while maintaining high image quality.

摘要： A recording apparatus of the present invention includes selective guard adding means for predicting, at the time of editing, positions of adjacency of new tracks to previously recorded tracks obtained at the time of completion of new track recording, and adds, at the time of editing, guards to locations where disturbance due to residue of erasing of the same azimuth might occur in order to remove or reduce the disturbance due to residue of erasing of the same azimuth caused at the editing point. When performing reproduction from a recording medium whereon tracks recorded by heads of at least two kinds of azimuth angles are disposed alternately and a plurality of tracks are handled as one recording unit and recorded, a reproducing apparatus of the present invention is so configured that the center of each of heads located at both ends of reproducing heads may be shifted to the inside as compared with each corresponding recording track. When disturbance due to the residue of erasing of the same azimuth occurs at the editing point, therefore, more signals of tracks to be originally reproduced can be reproduced, resulting in a greater resistance to disturbance of the same azimuth.

摘要： A portable video tape recorder for broadcasting applications comprises a pair of video heads mounted diametrically opposite to each other on the circumference of a rotary cylinder. High and low frequency carriers are modulated by frequency modulators with I and Q signals, respectively, and frequency division multiplexed for application to the video heads. The frequency values of the carriers are selected so that third-order distortion noise caused by the hysteresis characteristics of the video heads and the magnetic tape may fall within a frequency range differing from the frequencies of the modulated carriers by an amount greater than the bandwidth of the I and Q signals which are demodulated by frequency demodulators to prevent the occurrence of beat interference in the frequency band of the reproduced video signal.

摘要： A recording and reproducing apparatus includes two recording heads, two re-recording heads and one erasing head. The two recording heads are utilized to record directly adjacent recording tracks having no guard band therebetween. The adjacent recording tracks constitute a recording track set, and a plurality of such recording track sets are recorded on a recording medium such that a guard band is provided between adjacent ones of the recording track sets. The erasing head has an erasing width which is greater than a corresponding width of each recording track set, and it utilized to erase an already recording track set which was recorded using the two recording heads. The re-recording heads each have a recording width which is greater than that of each of the two recording heads, and are utilized to record newly recorded track sets in place of the already recorded track sets erased by the erasing head.

摘要： In a video tape recorder, luminance and chrominance signals are recorded respectively by first and second transducer heads along separate tracks skewed to the direction of tape motion. The transducer heads are rotated during particular modes such as slow-motion or still picture reproduction, in a tape-head speed relationship different from the normal tape-head speed relationship, causing the transducer heads to traverse several tracks. A switching circuit is coupled to the transducer heads to selectively connect the outputs of the heads to an output circuit in response to a point of transition of amplitude of the output signal from the second head to cancel unwanted signal components detected by the heads during traversal across the tracks.

摘要： The present invention relates to a magnetic recording and reproducing system of a rotary head type in which a video signal of a predetermined unit and audio signals corresponding to the video signal of the predetermined unit are sequentially recorded on and reproduced from a magnetic tape as a single record locus which is slanted with respect to the longitudinal direction of the magnetic tape by rotary heads. Two pairs of rotary heads are used as the rotary heads and the video signal and the audio signals to be processed are recorded by one pair of preceding heads among those two pairs of heads, while upon reproduction, the audio signals are reproduced by one pair of preceding heads and the video signal is reproduced by one pair of delayed heads. The reproduced audio signals and the video signal are processed to thereby obtain the video and audio signals in which the timings are coincident.
