    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a COrecovery device and method capable of reducing concentration of COabsorption liquid released while remaining in a decarboxylation exhaust gas.SOLUTION: A COrecovery device is provided for recovering and removing COin a COcontaining exhaust gas 11A containing the COin a COabsorption tower 13 using a COabsorption liquid 12. In the device, the COabsorption tower 13 includes:a COabsorbing section 13A for absorbing the COin the COcontaining exhaust gas; a main washing section 13C provided in the gas stream slip stream side of the COabsorbing section 13A and recovering the COabsorption liquid by a cleaning water 20 accompanying the COremoving exhaust gas, while cooling it, by the cleaning water 20; and a preliminary washing section 13B provided between the COabsorbing section 13A and the washing section 13C. A portion 20a of the cleaning water 20 containing the circulating COabsorption liquid is extracted in the main washing section 13C, and preliminarily washed in the preliminary washing section 13B. Also, the preliminary cleaning water is merged with the COabsorption liquid 12, while being made to directly flow down to the COabsorbing section 13A side.
