    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide light-weight artificial soil produced so as to prevent granular foam material from floating on a soil surface layer to be dispersed or flow out, enable greening material to sufficiently exert its performance, and also prevent plants from causing water rot or root rot: and to provide a method for producing light-weight artificial soil and a method for creating light-weight soil base using the artificial soil.
      SOLUTION: The light-weight artificial soil is obtained by fixedly attaching at least either one kind of greening material B selected from Kanuma soil, black soil, silicon soil, Akadama soil, coal ash, decomposed granite soil, reddish soil, volcanic ash, leaf soil, zeolite, clay, pearlite, peat moss and bark compost to the surface of granular foam material (A). The greening material B contains organic solvent comprising aromatic solvent or halogenated hydrocarbon solvent, and the greening material B fixedly attached to the surface of the granular foam material (A) presents such a formation that part of the greening material is buried under at least part of the material (A) dissolved by the organic solvent.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root-proof sheet excellent in shape retention regardless of being thin and lightweight, and having excellent workability such as being hardly wrinkled and torn when being stuck, excellent durability, sticking properties, and low prime cost, and demonstrating secured root-proof effect.
      SOLUTION: A root-proof layer structure is set on a construction surface of a soil layer on which plants are planted so as to prevent penetration of plant roots into the outside of the soil layer, and is composed of a resin film which has strength allowing to prevent penetration of plant roots and is stuck to the construction surface, and an adhesive layer which is formed on the reverse of the resin film. The confronting part or superposed part of the resin films in a root-proof layer is stuck with a coating tape which has an adhesive layer on the reverse in order to prevent penetration of plant roots, and strength allowing to prevent penetration of plant roots, and the thickness of the adhesive layer of the coating tape is formed to be smaller than a diameter of an end into which plant roots penetrate. Alternatively, the root-proof layer structure comprises using no coating tape and forming the thickness of the adhesive layer of the resin film smaller than a diameter of an end into which plant roots penetrate.

The covering means includes a drainage structure and a surface layer formed thereon. The surface layer is laid on a recessed part formed in the upper surface of the drainage structure, and on the other hand, a drainage part is set on the bottom of the drainage structure so as to flow while covering running water from the planting area to a prescribed direction.
