    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam for shift lock, which is easily molded with less molding failure, and which is easily attached to the shift lever device of an automobile even in manual operation.SOLUTION: The cam 10 for shift lock is attached to the body part 20 of the shift lever device for an automobile, and is used to restrict shifting operation. The body part 20 of the shift lever device for the automobile includes two stoppers 21a and 22 for restricting rotation of the cam for shift lock. The cam 10 for shift lock includes: a contact part 3 for rotating the cam 10 in one direction around a rotary shaft 2 and bringing the cam 10 into contact with one stopper 22 of the body part 20; a projection 1a for rotating the cam 10 around the rotary shaft and bringing the cam 10 into contact with the other stopper 21a, or making the cam 10 be engaged with a locking member at a predetermined position; and a support part 1b which supports the projection in a cantilever form, and which bends to a position where the projection is not brought into contact with the other stopper.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever device which enables a knob to be moved by a stroke amount for surely absorbing an impact, for example, upon a collision of a vehicle.SOLUTION: The shift lever device 21 which is provided in an instrument panel of the vehicle, includes the knob 1, a lever 2 which makes the knob 1 fixed to a leading end, a support 5 for being connected to a drive system, and a body portion 3. The body portion includes: a lever insertion opening 14 in its upper portion; a supporting portion 4 which swingably supports the lever 2 and the support 5 by integrally connecting them together and which is separated after being ruptured when undergoing the application of a predetermined load, so as to integrate the lever 2 and the support 5 together and make them freely movable, in its lower portion; and a through-hole 15 through which the lever passes, in its lower portion. Additionally, in the lower portion, the body portion also includes: a sidewall which secures an area A allowing entering movement of the support 5 with respect to the movement of the knob 1 in the direction of the supporting portion; and a rib 7 which is provided on a part or the whole of the outer periphery of the sidewall and which surrounds the support 5. Thus, since the rib 7 prevents a peripheral component from being pushed in, the knob 1 can be surely moved by the stroke amount.
