    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a runaway arrester which can ensure stable braking even in emergency and a carriage.SOLUTION: A runaway arrester 11, which is provided on a carriage 1 running on a rail 101, is equipped with: attackers 13, 14 which are provided to a wheel 5c of the carriage 1 and which are so displaced as to expand to a rotation diameter direction outer side by centrifugal force generated by rotation of the wheel 5c; a brake part 20 which is provided on a vehicle body 3 side of the carriage 1 and which starts braking operation for the carriage 1 when the attackers expanded to the rotation diameter direction outer side collide. The brake part 20 has brake members 25, 26 which are attached onto the vehicle body 3 side in the front or the rear of the wheel 5c. The brake members 25, 26 move and contact the rail 101 due to collision of the attackers 13, 14, and slide on the top face 101a of the rail to generate friction.

      SOLUTION: A laser scanning device 2 whose single laser scan (front 180 degrees) takes not more than 0.1 seconds is mounted to a truck 1 of a lead vehicle to be coupled, and an alarm transmission device 3 connected to the laser scanning device 2 is placed in communication with an alarm transmission device 4 connected to an alarm 5 and a battery locomotive control device 6. The laser scanning device 2 automatically detects an obstacle ahead, and a resultant laser scan data signal triggers a multilevel alarm for battery locomotive brake control.

When the total used electric power of the tunnel construction system exceeds the management value, an advance to S5 is made, the total used electric power is decreased by decreasing the rotating speed of a cutter head, the extension speed of a propulsion jack, the earth and sand conveying speed of a screw conveyor, the earth and sand conveying speed of a belt conveyor, and the earth and sand conveying speed of a vertical screw conveyor respectively. The processes S1-S3 and S5 are repeated until the total used electric power is decreased to the management value or less and when the total used electric power is decreased to the management value or less, an advance to S4 is made to continue the excavation of the tunnel.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground-joining shield machine which is relatively simple in structure, low in manufacturing cost, good in working efficiency, and has a skin plate for ensuring water cutoff.
      SOLUTION: The underground-joining shield machine consists of a receiving shield machine (1) and a penetrating shield machine (30) which carry out tunnel excavation in two directions to be joined to each other. The penetrating shield machine (30) has a cutter section and the skin plate (40) arranged on a front section thereof. The receiving shield machine (1) has a joining device (14) arranged in a front inner section of a trunk (2) thereof, for accommodating therein the skin plate (40), and a tube seal (26) arranged inside the joining device. Further the receiving shield machine has an inner trunk (4) and a hardener injection pipe arranged inside the trunk (2). The inner trunk functions to bear the cutter section at its front section and is reciprocatively movable. When the shield machine is at a joint location, the skin plate (40) is joined to the joining device (14) and the tube seal (26) is pressurized to cut off water, followed by injecting the hardener (43) via the injection pipe.
