    • Disclosed are improvements in and relating to a fluidized-bed type multistage solid-liquid contact apparatus which comprises a contact column incorporating therein a multiplicity of a spaced and horizontal support plates each carrying thereon a fluidized bed of solid particles and having a downcomer for communicating between the upper and lower sides of the plate, a storage tank for the liquid to be treated by contact with said layer of fluidized solid particles in said contact column, a storage tank for receiving the treated liquid and a storage tank for solid particles for use in said layers. In the improved fluidized-bed type multistage solid-liquid contact apparatus, the storage tank for solid particles is provided with a metering tank, the support plate in each stage is composed of one upper and one lower perforated plate and, in case where the downcomer is pierced through the support plate, the inside diameter of the tube is larger in the upper portion than in the lower portion and the forward end of the pipe used for delivering the solid particles to the contact column opens therein in a horizontal direction.

When unfiltered water is introduced into an introducing chamber 48 through an introducing port 20, the unfiltered water passes through a space above the filter body 28a, between the filter body 28b and 28c, and below the filter body 28d forming a U-shaped passage, reaching a discharging chamber 50, then discharged from a discharging port 22 to the outside of the casing 10, and is fed back, if necessary, to the introducing port 20 again. The water having passed through the filter bodies 28a-d is led to a permeated water discharging chamber 52 through a space between the filter body 28a and 28b, 28c and 28d. Then, the water is discharged to the outside of the casing 10 from a permeated water discharging port 24.

    • PURPOSE: To provide an electromagnetic filter of small power consumption and low running cost, by connecting a controlling means, used for changing the magnetic force of a magnetic material which is magnetized by an exciting coil, to the exciting coil.
      CONSTITUTION: A perforated plates 2 made of magnetic materials are arranged at the upper and lower sides in the inside of a filtering tower 1 made of stainless steel plate, and steel balls and steel wire-nets made of magnetic materials are packed between the plates 2 to constitute a magnetic filter-layer 3. A return frame 4 is provided to the outside of the tower 1 by surrounding the layer 3, and an exciting coil 5 is arranged in the inside of the frame 4. A controlling means 7 is provided to the place between an electric power source 6 and the coil 5 to gradually enhance the intensity of an impressed magnetic field and stengthen a magnetic force by the controlling means 7 during running, that is, through the period of initial, intermediate, and final stages of water passing. The controlling means 7 is used for changing an electric current value to be supplied to the exciting coil stepwise or in a stepless state, or changing the number of turns of the exciting coil substantially.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain high gradient magnetic-flux density and to enhance washing effect, by using cut pieces of wire rods as a filtering material in a magnetic filter for treating waste water, containing magnetic bodies. CONSTITUTION:Filtering materials 4 consisting of cut pieces of wire rods are packed in a filtering tower 1 of an electromagnetic filter. Raw water such as waste water produced in steel industry is introduced from a liquid inlet and outlet port 7 and is filtered through a packed layer of the materials 4 by supplying electric current to an exiting coil 6, provided to the outside of the tower 1, to magnetize the mateial 4. Ferromagnetic SS and paramagnetic SS are captured satisfactorily with the aid of high magnetic-flux-density gradients produced by the concentration of magnetic flux at projected parts of the material 4, because the projected parts are formed by cutting the material 4. Treated water, after removing the SS components, is discharged from a liquid inlet and outlet port 8. Washing operation is performed by feeding reversed washing water to the port 8 to give the materials 4 fluid agitation in order to peel off the SS stuck to the material 4 and discharging the reversed washing water from the port 7.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently restore the permeated water amt. by backwashing and to decrease the frequency of chemical cleanings in the separator provided with a means for backwashing the separation membrane in a membrane module by supplying backwashing water by adjusting the backwashing water pressure of the backwashing means in accordance with the permeation differential pressure of the membrane or the permeated water amt. SOLUTION: When a membrane module 4 receiving a flocculated liq. and discharging the permeated water through a pipeline 18 is backwashed, the permeated water in a pot 5 is boosted to a specified pressure by a compressor 6, etc., provided through an automatic pressure control valve 20 and returned to the module 4 to clean the membrane. In this case, the values detected by the pressure gages P-1 to P-3, thermometer T-1 and flow meter F-1 respectively provided to the raw water inlet 14 of the module 4, a circulating water outflow pipeline 16 and a permeated water discharge pipeline 15 are inputted to an arithmetic part 7. When the clogging of the membrane becomes serious, the control signal of the automatic pressure control valve 20 is emitted from a control part 8 to conduct backwashing with high backwashing pressure.
