摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain an Al alloy sheet for magnetic disk excellent in plating suitability and reduced in strain by applying hot and cold rollings to an Al alloy containing respectively prescribed amounts of Cu and/or Zn together with Mg, blanking the resulting sheet into a disk blank, and subjecting the disk- shaped sheet to holding at a temp. in the prescribed temp. range and then to cooling at a specific cooling velocity. CONSTITUTION:An Al alloy which has a composition containing, by weight, 2-6% Mg and either or both of 0.03-1% Cu and 0.1-2% Zn and further containing, if necessary, 0.05-1.0% Mn and/or 0.03-0.3% Cr is hot-rolled and cold-rolled, and the resulting rolled sheet is formed into disk shape by means of blanking, cutting, etc., and then subjected to stress relief annealing. Subsequently, the disk-shaped Al-alloy sheet after annealing is held at >=280 deg.C, desirably 340-360 deg.C, for 1-10hr, particularly about 2hr, and then cooled down to 120 deg.C at 20-300 deg.C/hr cooling rate. By this method, the Al alloy sheet excellent in surface preparation characteristic and the adhesive strength of a plating film, reduced in strain, and suitable for magnetic disk, optical disk, etc., can be obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To form a Co- or Ni-based film having superior magnetic characteristics by electroless plating by using a malonate or malate and glycine as complexing agents besides Co or Ni ions in an electroless plating bath such as a Co-P or Ni-P bath. CONSTITUTION:A bath contg. a Co ion source such as Co sulfate, a hypophosphite as a Co reducing agent, a malonate such as sodium malonate and glycine as Co complexing agents is prepd. as an electroless plating bath for forming a magnetic recording medium having high coercive force for a magnetic disk, a magnetic drum or the like. When the bath contains Ni ions in addition to Co ions, a malate is additionally added as a complexing agent. NaOH is used as a pH buffer in the electroless plating bath and the bath is adjusted to 9-10 pH and 70-80 deg.C. The electroless Co-P or Ni-P plating bath ensures superior magnetic characteristics such as high coercive force.

摘要： PURPOSE:To permit formation of a heat insulating groove layer having high adhesiveness to an aluminum substrate by adhering grooves of a UV curing type resin onto the Al alloy substrate by using a non-solvent type adhesive agent. CONSTITUTION:The non-solvent type adhesive agent 2 such as hot melt is uniformly coated on the surface of the Al alloy substrate 1. The UV curing type resin is coated on the surface of a stamper 3 for grooving and is cured. The substrate 1 and the stamper 3 are so stuck to each other that the adhesive agent 2 and the resin surface confront each other. The stamper 3 is stripped after the adhesive agent 2 is cured. As a result, the heat insulating groove layer having the high adhesiveness to the Al alloy is formed on the substrate 1. Since the release property of the stamper is excellent, the uniform groove layer having a good transfer property is formable.

That is, the target coercive force of a Co-Ni-P magnetic film can be controlled without affecting other magnetic characteristics, and since the residual magnetic flux density is not varied so much, the control becomes accurate, which can fully respond to the demand for a high-density recording.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a composite substrate which is lightweight and inexpensive by forming an Ni-P film which is formed by electroless plating and has a thickness exceeding 5mum on a disk consisting of heat resistant plastic. CONSTITUTION:For example, a polyimide system, polyether imide system and polyether sulfur system are used as the heat resistant plastic. These plastics have good heat resistance and are, therefore, not deteriorated in properties by a heat treatment. The Ni-P film is formed by an electroless plating method on this disk because the use of an electroplating is not possible, as the plastics are not electrically conductive. Since this electroless Ni-P film has usually >=400Hv hardness, the film greatly improves the substrate strength and, therefore, the damage of a medium by contact of a magnetic head and magnetic disk is prevented. The lightweight and inexpensive composite substrate for the magnetic disk is thus obtd.

摘要： PURPOSE:To produce the titled Al substrate having excellent flatness, by subjecting an Al alloy contg. specific ratios of Mg and Mn to hot rolling and cold rolling at the specific working ratio, blanking the disk blank of the alloy and subjecting the same to stress relief annealing at a specific temp. CONSTITUTION:The Al alloy contg., by weight, 3-6% Mg, 0.05-1% Mn and the balance consisting of Al with impurities is melted to cast and subjected to a soaking treatment and hot rolling to form to a hot coil. Said alloy is then applied to an intermediate annealing or cold rolling and intermediate annealing at need, and after that, is subjected to the cold rolling in such a manner that the cold working rate of the final coil is regulated to the range of 10-50% to form to the prescribed plate thickness. The disk blank of the alloy is then blanked and is subjected to the stress relief annealing at the temp. below the recrystallization temp. (about 260-320 deg.C). By this method, the Al substrate for a magnetic disk having high strength and having the excellent flatness, particularly the flatness without a change in the lapse of time is stably obtd.

摘要： PURPOSE:To eliminate a crown-shaped projection defect and suction to a head by applying a heat resisting resin to a suitable thickness onto a disk base, and thereafter, performing an end face working to the disk base, and thereafter, grinding the surface of the heat resisting resin. CONSTITUTION:When a heat resisting resin 2 is applied onto a metallic base 1 of aluminum, etc., a crown-shaped projection defect 3 is generated peripherally at a height of >=20mum in the vicinity of the outside peripheral end of the surface of the applied heat resisting resin 2. First of all, as a first process, the crown- shaped projection defect is eliminated by working both end faces of the disk base 1 by about 0.5mm in the radius simultaneously by grinding, etc. By this end working, a very small burr 3' of about 30mum width is generated by the disk center of the outside peripheral end face of the disk base 1, therefore, as a second process, the whole disk surface is ground by a lapping tape, etc., and in this surface grinding process, furthermore, the surface roughness of the disk is also adjusted. In such a way, the crown-shaped projection defect and a suction of the disk surface and a head are eliminated.
