    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit excellent deodorizing effect even when concn. of odor ingredients is remarkably changed by providing at least two stages of treating towers filled with microorganisms and/or an adsorption material and providing a treating tower filled with a porous body exhibiting oxidative decomposition performance to the odor ingredients between arbitrary treating towers. SOLUTION: When odors of waste water treatment contg. an odor ingredient (A) contg. hydrogen sulfide, etc., being easily decomposable under oxidative atmosphere and an odor ingredient (B) contg. other ingredients such as dimethyl sulfide are removed in an deodorizing apparatus, an deodorizing apparatus wherein at least two stages of treating towers filled with microorganisms and/or an adsorption material is utilized. Then, at first, the odor ingredient (A) is removed under oxidative atmosphere in a treating tower filled with a microorganism acting specifically to this. Thereafter, after remaining odor ingredient (A) which has not been removed in the treating tower is removed in a treating tower in which a porous body exhibiting oxidative decomposition catalyst performance to this is filled, other odor ingredients (B) are removed in a treating tower filled with a microorganism acting specifically to them.

    • PURPOSE: To provide the reaction vessel by which waste water treatment can continuously and stably be performed over a long period and also, the initial cost and running cost of which are low. CONSTITUTION: This reaction vessel 1 consists of an anaerobic tank 2 for receiving waste water that is at first allowed to flow from a sedimentation tank into the tank 2 and an aerobic tank 4 for receiving the treated water that is treated in the tank 2 and allowed to flow into the tank 4. In this vessel 1, when a coarse gas hole diffuser 5 that consists of polyvinyl chloride tubes having gas holes 5a, each of which has a 2 to 8mm diameter and which are arranged at a pitch of 100 to 1,000mm, is placed at the bottom of the anaerobic tank 2, the amount of dissolved oxygen in the waste water is reduced to about 0mg/liter and the oxidation-reduction potential(ORP) value is maintained within the range of -200 to 300mV. Since clogging of the coarse gas hole diffuser 5 is inhibited from occurring, the waste water can stably be treated over a long period and also, since this reaction vessel 1 has no moving part and the need of overhauling the reaction vessel 1 is eliminated, the running cost of the reaction vessel can be reduced to a lower value.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological deodorization device in which excellent capacity of removing decomposition retardant malodorous substances can be continued over a long period of time and moreover, a pressure loss is not caused. SOLUTION: In this biological deodorization device, a polymer microorganism carrier bed 13 consisting of a large particle size microorganism carrier bed 11 of 400 mm thickness packed with a carrier 11a of large particle size in which hydrogen sulfide deodorizing bacteria are seeded and a small particle size part biological carrier bed 12 packed with a carrier 12b of small particle size is installed in a first bed 1 into which malodorous gas containing malodorous substances flows by making the large particle size microorganism carrier bed 11 the gas inflow side and small particle size part biological carrier beds 21, 31 packed with carriers 21b, 31b of small particle size in which bacteria for deodorizing decomposition retardant malodorous substances such as methyl mercaptan are seeded are installed in a second bed 2 and the succeeding parts. In this way, even when hydrogen sulfide is decomposed to deposit sulfur, the polymer microorganism carrier bed 13 is not clogged and the hydrogen sulfide can be decomposed in high efficiency with small particle size part biological carrier bed 12 of the polymer microorganism carrier bed 13 and the decomposition retardant malodorous substance can be decomposed with the second bed 2 and the succeeding parts respectively.
