    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for aligning a furnace body mantel, by which, even in the case of a large scale blast furnace, the alignment of the furnace body mantels are easily executed with high aligning precision. SOLUTION: Plural wedge members 31 which have respective outer peripheral surfaces 33 with taper fitted to the lower end peripheral part 30 of the upper side furnace body mantel 20, are inserted into wedge inserting parts 35 which are arranged in the upper end peripheral part 32 of the lower side furnace body mantel 19 and has respective wedge guide surfaces 34 with taper by using plural wedge member press-in means 36 fitted to the lower end peripheral part 30 of the upper side furnace body mantel 20. The upper side furnace body mantel 20 is moved in the horizontal direction or the rotating direction to the lower side furnace body mantel 19, or the lower side furnace body mantel 19 is moved in the horizontal direction or the rotating direction to the upper side furnace body mantel 20 to easily and surely execute the alignment of the upper and the lower side furnace body mantels 20, 19.

    • In taping for discharging molten metal (16) and slag (18) from a blast furnace, a pipe (30) is connected to the external end of a tap hole (12), and an electromagnetic energy supplying member (32) is disposed on the outside of this pipe (30) to apply. A turning motion or a magnetic pressure due to electromagnetic repulsion to the flow of melt in the pipe (30) so that the molten metal (16) and the slag (18) may be separately discharged at controlled speed. According to this method, the discharge quantity from the blast furnace can be kept substantially constant from the start till the end of tapping, the number of times of opening/closing of tapping can be remarkably reduced, and stability of product quality and saving of operations can be accomplished.
