    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the adhesion of dross to the surface of a material to be treated and to obtain a high quality plated product by disposing, into immersed state, a frame in the periphery of the material to be plated in a snout, at a specific distance, so that the upper part of the frame projects from the surface of a plating bath. SOLUTION: A material 1 to be plated is introduced through a snout 2 into a hot dip metal coating bath, taken out of the plating bath surface 5, while changing its course via a sink roll 4, and then subjected to coating weight regulation by means of a wiper 6, by which a plated product is obtained. At this time, a frame 3 is disposed in the position where the material 1 to be plated, passing through the snout, is introduced into the plating bath. This frame 3 is constituted so that it surrounds the material 1 to be plated and, further its upper part projects from the plating bath surface 5 and its lower part is immersed in the plating bath. Further, the distance (d) (mm) between the frame 3 and the material 1 to be plated is regulated so that it satisfies d +B.S+C.T+D or d +B.S+E, where the symbols A to E, M, and N are contants, T is a dew point ( deg.C) in the snout, and S is a line speed (m/min).
