    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the press workability, i.e., slidability and plating adhesion by specifying the content of Fe in a hot dip galvannealing layer and moreover specifying the area ratio of the recessed parts present in the surface to the whole surface of the plating layer and the non-sliding area ratio in the whole surface after sliding. SOLUTION: The content of Fe in a plating layer of a hot dip galvannealed steel sheet is controlled to, by weight, 8 to 13%, preferably, the content of Al is controlled to about 0.15 to 0.30%, moreover, the coating weight of the plating is controlled to about 20 to 60 g/m2. Further, the area ratio of recessed parts present in the surface of this plating layer is >=30%, preferably about 40 to 70% to the whole surface of the plating layer, and, in the case the plated steel sheet is brought to contact with a die, and sliding is executed, the ratio of the part which is not contacted with the die, i.e., non-sliding area ratio after the sliding is controlled to >=15%. The shape of the surface of this plating layer can be formed by treating the steel sheet before dipping in a low oxygen- high hydrogen atmosphere to prevent oxidation and furthermore making the impregnating temp. of the sheet into the plating bath higher than the bath temp. by about +25 to 75 deg.C according to need.
