    • PURPOSE:To smelt an extra-low carbon steel with high efficiency by forming a vacuum degassing chamber and up- and down immersing pipes to elliptical shapes in the direction perpendicular to each other and blowing high-pressure gases from the perforated fine pipes in the lower part of the up immersing pipe while top blowing oxygen. CONSTITUTION:The up- and down immersing pipes 4, 6 in the lower part of the vacuum degassing chamber 2 having a top blowing lance 30 pendent through an upper cap 28 are immersed into the molten steel 8 in a ladle 3. The inside of this vacuum degassing chamber 2 is evacuated to a vacuum and a reflux gas is blown from the lower part of the up immersing pipe 4. The reflux of the molten steel is thereby caused and the oxygen and/or inert gas is blown from the above-mentioned top blowing lance 30 into this molten steel. All of the vacuum degassing chamber 2 and immersing pipes 4, 6 of the above-mentioned vacuum degassing device are formed to the elliptical shapes and are combined by intersecting the major axes thereof with each other.     • PURPOSE:To efficiently replace air to non-oxidized atmosphere and to improve working ratio of a continuous casting machine by inserting a reverse T shaped gas blowing pipe into near bottom face of a tundish from an opening hole for gas burner and softly blowing argon gas to the horizontal direction from the tip part thereof. CONSTITUTION:The reverse T shaped gas blowing pipe 3 connected and supported with a gas supplying pipe 11 through combustible material of a paper- made connecting cylinder 9 from the opening hole 6 for burner in a tundish cover 2 is inserted into near the bottom face of tundish body 1, and gap between the opening hole 6 for burner and the gas supplying pipe 3 is sealed with a sealing material 13. The Ar gas is supplied from the gas supplying pipe 11 and at the time of softly blowing the Ar gas to the horizontal direction from the tip part of reverse T shaped gas blowing pipe 3, the Ar gas having sp. gr. larger than that of the air, is spread to lower space of the tundish body 1 and stayed.     • PURPOSE:To manufacture molten chromium-containing pig iron at high Cr yield by dividing the whole process into scrap melting period, temp. raising period and Cr ore addition, melting and reducing period at the time of manufacturing the molten Cr-containing iron for raw material of stainless steel by oxygen-blowing in an oxygen top blowing converter while using stainless steel scrap, molten iron and chromium ore as raw material. CONSTITUTION:After charging the stainless steel scrap, pre-dephosphorized molten iron, slag making agent of lime, etc., and carbonic material in the oxygen top blowing converter (or combined blowing converter), the stainless steel scrap is melted by oxygen-blowing with a top blowing lance. Successively, the oxygen-blow is continued to rapidly raise the molten metal temp. and at the same time of reaching to >=1,500 deg.C the prescribed temp., the Cr ore and the carbonic material are added to reduce Cr2O3 in the Cr ore into Cr carbide with the carbonic material. Then, by changing carbon content [C] into [C]>=4.03+0.084[Cr] ([Cr] is Cr content in the molten metal), the molten chromium iron for raw material of the stainless steel is manufactured at high reducing recovery ratio of Cr in the Cr ore under little erosion of the converter refractory for short time.

    • PURPOSE:To easily recycle worn tuyere at low cost by taking out an inner pipe when the tip part of tuyere retreats from the refractory level by melting loss, inserting it in an outer pipe after plugging the tip part thereof by refractory and eliminating the tip part containing the refractory in the inner pipe by continuation of refining. CONSTITUTION:When the tip part of double pipe tuyere retreats from the outskirt of refractory level by melting-loss caused by burnback phenomenon, the inner pipe 3 is once taken out and the tip opening part is perfectly plugged by disk-like iron-plate 4, and further bar-like refractory 6 coated by mortar 5 on the outside thereof is pushed into the inner pipe 3. Then, the inner pipe 3 is plugged by refractory 6 up to a position, of at least about 5mm (l>=5mm) apart from the tip part position of outer pipe 1 toward outside direction. This inner pipe 3 is inserted in the outer pipe 1 and the pipes 3, 1 are connected with the gas introducing pipe respectively, to reopen the blowing. In this way, at first, the tip part of outer pipe 1 is eliminated in the few heats of blowing and then the cooling gas starts to flow, and next, the tip part of inner pipe containing the refractory 6 is eliminated in few heats of blowing and normal gas flow is recovered at each inner and outer pipes 3, 1.
