CONSTITUTION:A discharge pipe 21, which leads to air, is provided at the end on the driver side of a refrigerant tank 4. The discharge pipe 21 is provided, inside the center hole 16 of the rotary shaft outside a vacuum heat insulating layer 6, with a spring-type relief valve 22 which is equipped with a operating function of becoming full open by overcoming spring force by electromagnetic force at current application. Moreover, gas-like refrigerant passages 23a, 23b, and 23c, which leads to the space between the generator outside a rotor from each outlet of each torque tube 8a and 8b at the end 14 on driver side and the end 9 on the side opposite to the driver and the gas-like refrigerant passage of a radiation shield 7, are provided, respectively, piercing a cold rotor 5. A solenoid valve, which opens fully at current application and closes fully at current nonapplication, is provided at the outlet of each gaseous refrigerant path.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify costruction and enhance reliability, by putting a spring plate outside the rear section of a stator-core-fastening rib, in the circumferential direction, and by fitting both the ends of the spring firmly on the division plates of a stator frame. CONSTITUTION:Division plates 7 dividing the space of the internal section of a stator frame 6 in the axial direction are separated from each other and are arranged. In the meantime, a spring plate 3 with a flattened rectangular sectional area is brought into contact with the counter dovetail side of a rib 2 with a rectangular sectional area with a dovetail, namely, the rear section of the rib. The central section of the spring plate 3 is fastened with bolts 4 through the counter dovetail side in the radial direction. The product of the spring plate 3 and the rib 2 combined with each other is brought to the internal section of the stator frame 6, and on the inner peripheral surfaces of the division plates 7 of the stator frame 6, both the end sections of the spring plate 3 are fastened with bolts 5. After that, steel sheets organizing a stator core 1 are engaged with the dovetail of the rib 2 and are laminated, and into grooves arranged on the inner peripheral surface of the stator core 1, windings are inserted.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to operate a large size superconductivity application device for a long period of time without use of equipment such as a helium liquefier by installing a liquid helium supply container in such a position that its water level is higher than that of a feed container, and connecting the water levels of both containers by means of a transfer tube. CONSTITUTION:A supply container B4 filled with liquid helium is put on a frame 14, and the container B4 and a gas piping 12 are connected together by a short pipe 13, and a transfer tube 5 is inserted into a container A2 for feeding liquid helium to a superconductivity application device 1 and into the container B4. The pressure gauge and level gauge of the container A2 and container B4 are monitored so as to estimate the height of the helium liquid column within the vertical tube 5a of the transfer tube 5, which may vary in accordance with differential pressure, and a stop valve 10 is opened when a siphon phenomenon is started in the transfer tube 5. It is thus made possible to supply liquid helium from the supply container B4 to container A2 while the container A2 supplies liquid helium to the device 1.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent copper powder from being generated due to abrasion between parallel conductors, by preventing relative displacement between the parallel conductors from being generated during the low speed rotation of a rotor, on the rotor provided with a winding two conductors laminated and organized in parallel with each other. CONSTITUTION:In the parallel sections 2b and tapered sections 2c of the respective slots bored through the core 1 of a cylindrical rotor, windings 5 which are layer-insulated by turn insulations 4 and are kept in series and are made of copper are contained. In its case, the windings 5 are organized by laminating two conductors 10a, 10b, and between the parallel conductors, the windings are soldered or welded to be jointed together locally at positions 11 separated in the longitudinal direction. However, in this case, on a part or the whole of the windings 5 arranged on the parallel sections 2b, in comparison with the windings 5 arranged on the comparatively upper section of the tapered section 2c, the intervals of the joint positions 11 are set to be rough (for example, twice), otherwise, the joint may be omitted. As a result, relative displacement between the parallel conductors can be prevented from being generated.

    • PURPOSE:To suppress the irregularity of the windage distribution of a radial path by increasing the width of other part except a hole to the bottom of a coil in a subslot in the vicinity of the end of a rotor core. CONSTITUTION:A subslot 2 is formed on the bottom of each of a plurality of axial coil slots 1 which are opened on the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical rotor core 10, and radial path 11 is formed at a primary plate 6, a slot insulator 5, a rotor coil 13, a turn insulator 4, a cribbage block 7 and a wedge 8. The width except the hole of the subslot 2 is increased in the vicinity of the end 10 of the rotor core. On the other hand, the width of the subslot 2 except the vicinity of the end 10a is formed in the same manner as the width (g) of the hole except the bottom. Cooling gas is introduced from the end 10 to the subslot 2 to cool a rotor coil 3. In this manner, the irregularity in the cooling windage in the radial path can be reduced.
