    • A non-volatile memory device is disclosed in which a pair of two adjacent memory cell strings are commonly connected to one bit line and the memory cell strings are selectively driven to obtain a relatively wide pitch margin between two bit lines. The device has a conductive plate line which is located along each memory cell string or a pair of memory cell strings to drive memory cells thereof with a relatively low program voltage to a word line. The memory device comprises a plurality of memory cell strings which are arranged in parallel with one another and each of which extends in the same direction as a bit line 12, and a pair of two adjacent memory cell strings 11a and 11b are commonly connected to the bit line 12. The memory device also comprises a string selector for selecting either the first string 11a or the second string 11b in response to signals from string select lines SSL1 and SSL2, and a plurality of plate lines PLa or 21a and PLb or 21b which are respectively arranged on the first and second strings 11a and 11b. In the memory cell, if voltages having different levels are applied to the control gate of a memory cell of the string selected thus and the plate line, at least more than two coupling voltages are induced to a floating gate of a corresponding memory cell so that two bits of information can be stored in and read out of one memory cell. The memory device has a cell structure in which a pair of two adjacent memory cell strings are commonly connected to one bit line, so that margin width between two bit lines, i.e., a bit line pitch can be relatively widely obtained.

    • A method and apparatus for transmitting a preamble for frame synchronization and channel estimation in a MIMO-OFDM communication system are provided. An OFDM communication system using Q transmit antennas generates a base preamble sequence including a CP and an orthogonal sequence.     • Provided is a synchronization apparatus and method for a receiver that performs synchronization in a digital domain and detects a transmission signal. The synchronization apparatus includes an Analog-to-Digital (A/D) converter for converting a received signal into a digital signal, a frequency synchronizer for synchronizing a frequency using the digital signal output from the A/D converter, a signal detection unit for detecting a transmission symbol from a signal synchronized by the frequency synchronizer, and a residual phase detector for compensating for a residual phase of the transmission symbol output from the signal detection unit and outputting the resulting transmission symbol. The frequency synchronizer is capable of accurately and efficiently compensating for a frequency offset by minimizing the time delay caused by subcarrier synchronization using an improved CORDIC algorithm.

    • An apparatus for detecting an on-off keying signal in a CDMA mobile station device is disclosed. A first calculator receives an on-off keying signal and a reference signal transmitted from a base station transmitter at a given transmission power level, despreads the received on-off keying signal, and generates a symbol power level of the despread on-off keying signal. A second calculator despreads the reference signal and generates a power level of the despread reference signal. A multiplier generates a variable threshold value by multiplying the power level of the despread reference signal by a gain determined by a ratio of the transmission power of the reference signal from the base station transmitter to the transmission power of the on-off keying signal from the base station transmitter. A comparator compares the variable threshold value with the symbol power level of the despread on-off keying signal. Further, a symbol detector detects the symbol of the on-off keying signal by comparing a comparison value from the comparator with a prescribed threshold value.
