    • A manually guided suction device or blower is provided that has a housing in which is formed a spiral blower path in which is disposed an impeller that is rotatably driven by a drive motor. The spiral blower path has an air-conveying air inlet and an air-withdrawing outlet. A connector is provided for the detachable connection of an air-conveying connection conduit, whereby when the connection conduit is mounted it overlaps with the connector, which is secured to the housing, over a prescribed axial length. To achieve a mechanically secure connection, an annular sealing element is held in a groove in a surface of the connector or connection conduit in the overlap region, wherein over the entire circumference thereof, the sealing element projects beyond such surface.

    • A hedge clipper is provided that has an internal combustion engine that is to be started by hand. By means of a clutch and a gear mechanism, the engine drives cutting blades in a reciprocating manner; the cutting blades are guided and held in a cutter bar. Disposed on the output side of the clutch is a brake drum around which extends a brake band. The first end of the brake band is fixed to the housing, and the second end of the brake band is held on a pivotable brake lever that is acted upon by a brake spring that urges the brake band into engagement against the brake drum. The brake lever can be moved into an inoperative position of the band brake by a release lever against the force of the brake spring. The release lever cooperates with an adjusting cam that is disposed directly adjacent to the brake lever and in the inoperative position of the band brake forms a rest stop for the brake lever, receiving the force of the brake spring.

A centrifugal clutch is provided for achieving a positive connection, as a function of engine speed, between a drive part, which is driven by the engine and is rotatably mounted on the engine side, and a power take-off part that is rotatably mounted in the housing. The clutch has at least one centrifugally actuatable clutch body in the region of the drive part, and in the region of the power take-off part has a clutch housing that overlaps the clutch body. The clutch furthermore has a locating bearing that is disposed between and coaxial with the drive part and the power take-off part. Locating pins are provided for aligning the engine relative to the housing, with the pins extending with play into appropriate receiving openings.

    • The invention is directed to a cutter apparatus having a stationary blade and a rotating blade. The rotating blade is driven in rotation by a drive motor. The rotating motion causes the knife and blade to slide relative and over each other in a manner of scissors. The blade and knife each include a plurality of cutting edges with the cutting edges of the knife and blade being so arranged that they run toward each other at an angle opening outwardly. The cutting edges of the stationary blade are formed on radially extending fingers arranged in a star-shaped configuration which facilitates the manipulation of the cutter apparatus and improves the cutting quality thereof. The cutting apparatus is suitable for all kinds of vegetation including leaves and grass blades.
