    • An apparatus for monitoring the pressure of an auxiliary energy source (10, 11, 12) of a slip-controlled brake system for motor vehicles comprises at least two switches responding when falling below a pressure limit value(p.sub.1), releasing warning signals and influencing the function of the brake slip control. Through logical operation of the switch functions, failure of a switch (ws1, ws2) will be detected and an error signal derivable therefrom resulting in the partial shut-down or cut-off of the control. The monitoring circuit responds to two different pressure limit values (p.sub.o, p.sub.u). The brake system is partially shut down or cut off by measuring the interval (.DELTA.T) between the response to the upper and lower pressure limit threshold (p.sub.o and p.sub.u, respectively), locking and then switching on the master valves (21, 22), detecting the reaction on turning on again the master valves etc., and by logical operation of the signals.

    • A brake system with slip control comprises a conventional braking pressure generator (1), for example a master cylinder (2) with a vacuum-type booster (3) connected before it. An auxiliary pressure control valve (23) is provided whose control inlet port (21) is connected with a pressure chamber (9) of the master cylinder. As the slip control action starts, a hydraulic pump (26) is put into operation which causes an auxiliary pressure proportional to the pedal force to be built up by means of the control valve (23). The auxiliary pressure causes hydraulically actuatable valve arrangements (27, 28, 45, 46) to be switched over and thus the auxiliary pressure supply system (23, 26) instead of the master cylinder (2) to be connected with the wheel brakes (31 to 34). Simultaneously, the brake circuits (I, II) of the master cylinder are cut off and thus a further displacement of the master cylinder pistons (6, 7) is prevented.

    • A control arrangement of a hydraulic vehicle braking system provided with antiskid control equipment includes a master cylinder device which is actuatable by a brake pedal and is provided with at least one master piston cooperating with an associated replenishment chamber. The replenishment chamber is hydraulically connected through a substantially radial bore with the secondary side of the master piston. An axially displaceable circumferentially sealed positioning piston is disposed at the secondary side of the master piston, and a piston rod of the master piston concentrically and sealingly passes through the positioning piston. The piston rod of the master piston is provided, at its free end which is closer to the brake pedal, with an enlarged circumferential projection which can be brought in engagement with an associated circumferential edge of the positioning piston upon depression of the brake pedal and after admission of the pressurized hydraulic fluid from the auxiliary energy source to the secondary side of the master piston in such a manner that the master piston is moved into a defined position during antiskid control operation. Alternatively, this engagement of the positioning piston can take place with a circumferential projection of a throttling valve which is interposed between the brake pedal and the master cylinder device.

    • In a traction slip-controlled brake system for automotive vehicles, comprising an auxiliary pressure source and a pedal-operated brake valve through which pressure fluid from the auxiliary pressure source can be applied to the wheel brakes. A first valve switchable from a locking position into a passage position is switched into a pressure fluid conduit leading from the auxiliary pressure source to the wheel brakes of the one motor vehicle axle, and a second valve is switched into the brake conduit connecting the wheel brakes of the said motor vehicle axle to the brake valve. The said second valve can switch over from a passage position into a locking position. Moreover, a check valve is provided in the line section connecting the first valve to the wheel brakes of the one motor vehicle axle, with the said check valve precluding a flow back of pressure from the wheel brakes to the first valve. An additional third valve is provided in a line connecting this line branch to the return line which valve, in non-excited condition, for safety reasons, will then open the communication with the pressure fluid reservoir.

If the primary piston after the auxiliary pressure source having been turned on, is not restored within the predetermined time interval, an error signal will be generated. If the way switch disposed on the primary piston fails to respond after a predetermined number of regulating cycles or pressure decreasing pulses, an error signal will also be generated and the anti-locking regulation will be turned off or the auxiliary pressure source switched on.

The pressure of the auxiliary energy hydraulic fluid can be generated by a hydraulic pump which is operated only during the antiskid control action, or the auxiliary energy supply system can be operated on a continuous basis, in which case the auxiliary hydraulic fluid is supplied to the hydraulic braking circuit only when the need for an antiskid control action arises.

    • In an auxiliary power assisted master cylinder arrangement for a vehicle brake system to generate a controlled brake pressure in associated wheel brake cylinders, there is provided a brake valve with a preceding servo travel simulator to effect a control of the wheel brake cylinders of a vehicle. In one construction of the arrangement, there is interposed between two master cylinder units a pedal-operable device including mechanical cross links connecting with the master cylinder units as well as another cross link connecting with the brake valve. The brake valve is movable into engagement with the servo travel simulator, while the pedal-operable device, under normal braking conditions, is acted upon by the controlled pressure from an auxiliary power source in opposition to the pedal pressure and includes a lock providing for interlocking of all mechanical links in the event of a failure of auxiliary power. In another construction, each master cylinder unit is preceded by a second lock which is normally released with auxiliary power available and, in the event of a failure of the auxiliary power, couples the master cylinder units with the associated cross links at least in the direction of pedal operation. The present invention is advantageously employed as a brake slip control apparatus.
