      SOLUTION: A segment feeder 19 is installed at a frame 51, pressed to the inner peripheral wall of an existing segment 20 by a pressing jack 53 and advanced by a repositioning jack 54 after the segment is assembled. A first moving base 55 movable in a longitudinal direction is installed at a frame 51, and a second moving base 59 movable in a width direction is installed further ahead at the frame 51. A first link 63, a second link 65 at the tip thereof, and a third link 67 at the tip thereof are turnably mounted to the second moving base 59 respectively by pin connection. A fourth link 71 is journaled to the tip of the third link 67 by a shaft 72 turnably around the shaft, and a segment grip part 73 is mounted to the tip of the fourth link 71.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a widening constriction method for a shield machine, which enables smooth widening construction, and which can minimize deformation of peripheral ground. SOLUTION: This shield machine 1 comprises a main body block 3, right and left excavating blocks 5 and 7 movable in the width direction, and right and left construction blocks 9 and 11 movable in the width direction. The main body block 3 is composed of a front body part 3a, an intermediate body part 3b and a rear body part 3c. A pipe-transferring cylinder of the second pipe transfer device 19 provided at the rear side and having the same structure with the former cylinder is driven so as to synchronize with the pipe-transferring cylinder 33a. The working space can be sufficiently secured by appropriately moving pipes in accordance with the assembling works of segments.
