    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for shield excavation, which does not adversely affect natural ground even in the case of excavating a shield tunnel with thin earth covering.
      SOLUTION: A shield excavator 1 has a cutter 3 for excavating natural ground at its front end. A plurality of sheets 15 are installed nearly all over the upper surface of a skin plate 13 constituting the external shell of the excavator body. A sheet storage 19 that stores sheets 15 feedably and a sheet feeder 21 that continuously feeds sheets 15 are provided within the excavator. Ports for drawing out the sheets 15 are provided in a zigzag manner to prevent the aligning of adjacent sheets on a skin plate 13.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a segment assembling device capable of assembling long-sized segments with the long sides integrated.
      SOLUTION: A segment feeder 19 is installed at a frame 51, pressed to the inner peripheral wall of an existing segment 20 by a pressing jack 53 and advanced by a repositioning jack 54 after the segment is assembled. A first moving base 55 movable in a longitudinal direction is installed at a frame 51, and a second moving base 59 movable in a width direction is installed further ahead at the frame 51. A first link 63, a second link 65 at the tip thereof, and a third link 67 at the tip thereof are turnably mounted to the second moving base 59 respectively by pin connection. A fourth link 71 is journaled to the tip of the third link 67 by a shaft 72 turnably around the shaft, and a segment grip part 73 is mounted to the tip of the fourth link 71.
