摘要： A wireless local area network for digital radio communication between remote devices and a PBX telephone system, wherein the remote devices can access and use the voice message features in the PBX and the data bases on a host computer and servers. A wireless phone is provided for voice and data communication through the PBX or a CO telephone line with remote locations or the Internet using digital data packets and standard Internet Protocol. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the remote device is a cash register comprising a bar code scanner and a phone. Radio communication between the register and a host computer is carried out over two channels, a first channel for data communication and a second channel for voice communication.

摘要： A wireless system for self-service shopping is described that includes a customer identification device with an optically readable code, a portable terminal that includes an optical code reader, a local area radio, a terminal controller, and a locking mechanism, a master station, consisting of a master controller and a master radio, and a receiving rack for the portable terminals to which the scanners may be locked using the locking mechanism. A customer presents his or her identification device to a terminal which reads the code, the code is transferred by radio to the master controller which checks the identification and, if valid, sends an authorized signal by radio to the terminal to unlock the scanner. In addition, several locking mechanisms are described that are controlled by the terminal controller. An additional feature provides a shopping cart with a receiving cradle for a portable terminal that allows the customer to lock the scanner onto the cart for hands-free shopping.

摘要： A synthetic antiferromagnetic (SAF) structure for a spintronic device is disclosed and has an AP2/antiferromagnetic (AF) coupling/CoFeB configuration. The SAF structure is thinned to reduce the fringing (Ho) field while maintaining high coercivity. The AP2 reference layer has intrinsic perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) and induces PMA in a thin CoFeB layer through AF coupling. In one embodiment, AF coupling is improved by inserting a Co dusting layer on top and bottom surfaces of a Ru AF coupling layer. When AP2 is (Co/Ni)4, and CoFeB thickness is 7.5 Angstroms, Ho is reduced to 125 Oe, Hc is 1000 Oe, and a balanced saturation magnetization-thickness product (Mst)=0.99 is achieved. The SAF structure may also be represented as FL2/AF coupling/CoFeB where FL2 is a ferromagnetic layer with intrinsic PMA.
