    • A data shift control circuit for a shift register in response to a logic operation command code is disclosed. The shift register includes a first register and a second register and the logic operation command code includes a first portion and a second portion. The circuit includes a first decoder for decoding the first portion to transmit a move signal; a second decoder for decoding the second portion to transmit a control signal; a control signal channel, electrically connected to the first register and the second register, for allowing the first register and the second register to receive the control signal and for allowing the shift register to execute a first action; and a move signal channel, electrically connected to all registers of the shift register for allowing the all registers to receive the move signal and for allowing the move register to execute a second action.

    • A microprocessor includes a bus interface unit that interfaces the microprocessor to a bus that includes a signal that, when asserted, instructs all bus agents to refrain from initiating bus transactions. Microcode causes the bus interface unit to assert the signal in response to detecting an event and resets the microprocessor, but does not reset a portion of the bus interface unit that asserts the signal on the bus. After the reset, the microcode causes the bus interface unit to deassert the signal on the bus. Additionally, the microcode sets a flag and saves the microprocessor state to memory before resetting itself, but does not reset the interrupt controller. After the reset, the microcode reloads the state of the microprocessor from the memory. However, if the microcode determines that the flag is set, it forgoes reloading the state of the interrupt controller.

    • An optic disk opener includes an elongate stem having an end defining an interior space receiving a spring-biased sharp member that is extendible out of the space by being manually driven, against the biasing force, to physically engaging an optic disk pack that is wrapped with a plastic film, whereby when the opener is moved along an edge of the optic disk pack, the sharp blade breaks the film. Two spaced flanges are formed on the first end to receive the edge of the optic disk pack and guide the movement of the opener. An elongate member is pivoted to the first end and movable between an operation position where a soft layer attached to a surface of the elongate member is exposed to wipe and clean an optic disk and a stowed position where the elongate member overlaps the stem to shield the soft layer.
