    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining method for a segment for a shield tunnel, which makes an adhesive properly spread in a joining area requiring the adhesive, when the segments composed of an FRP are joined together with the adhesive, which prevents the occurrence of the relative displacement of the segments to be joined to each other, which enables uniform stress transfer for a tunnel structure by preventing the occurrence of the concentration of stress on a joint in such a manner that the segments are surely surface-joined together, and which is excellent in joining performance and waterproof performance, and a tunnel wall body using the joining method.
      SOLUTION: This joining method for the segment for the shield tunnel is characterized in that the adjacent segments are joined together with the adhesive in a state in which a joint assisting member with a surface spread along at least a part of joint surfaces of the adjacent segments is interposed between the adjacent segments, when the shield tunnel is formed by joining the segments having at least outer surfaces composed of the FRP. The tunnel wall body is constituted by using the joining method.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective and proper base isolation device which has excellent damping capability by a simple structure.SOLUTION: The base isolation device includes a device body which is elastically deformed by relative vibration generated between a structure 1 and a supporting structure 2 so as to retain the structure on the supporting structure and a damping mechanism which is mounted to the device body to damp the vibration thereof. The damping mechanism is formed of fibrous materials 12 provided between both ends of the device body to absorb vibration energy by being broken upon receiving a predetermined tensile load. The fibrous materials 12 are disposed at sides of base isolation rubber 11 as the device body along the vertical direction. Both ends of the fibrous materials are locked to upper and lower mounting jigs 13, 14 of the base isolation rubber. A plurality of fibrous materials are provided in parallel and the length and/or an inclination angle to the vertical direction of each fibrous fiber are set in such a way that the fibrous material is broken stepwise.
