    • A surgical device for closing an incision created by a trocar or similar surgical device is disclosed. The surgical device comprises a support member within which are disposed a first and second needle positioning means. Each of these means carries a suture needle in retrorse configuration relative to the distal end of the support member. The needles can be retracted or deployed relative to the support member in a plurality of desired positions. In operation, the needles are deployed at a desired distance from the edge of the incision. The surgeon then pulls the device out of the body of the patient, thereby capturing and pulling the needles through first the peritoneum followed by the fascia. Needle capture means are provided which retain and remove the needles after the peritoneum and fascia are sutured, leaving the loose ends of the suture thread which can then be tied off below skin level to close the incision.

    • Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a customizable bio-manufacturing system which includes a manufacturing space having a first air handling system for providing supply air and a second air handling system for handling exhaust air, the supply air system being optionally provided with at least one of filtration, heating, cooling and or humidity control and a plurality of portable modules provided within the manufacturing space. At least one module having an interior capable of being interconnected with another module interior and each module's interior includes one or more components to perform at least one specific task of a biological, chemical, and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing process. At least one module includes an on-board environmental control system for controlling an environment within the module and a connection means for interconnecting the module interior with another module interior. The system also includes a central controller operating to at least perform one or more of operation and information collection for the operation of at least one of the system and one or more modules.

    • A “pinout mode” control capability incorporated into an integrated circuit device controls an internal mapping function, with the effect that the device pinout is adjusted by the setting of the pinout mode. An integrated circuit device includes a data interface with plural physical ports each having a physical port identifier and a mapper for mapping the physical port identifiers to logical port identifiers based on a selected mode setting, each mode setting defining a different port mapping. A data circuit is coupled to the data interface, the data circuit processing data sent to and received from the data interface based on the logical port identifiers.
