    • Provided are an organic thin film transistor (TFT), which can prevent deformation or separation due to mechanical stress, and a flat panel display device including the organic TFT. The organic TFT includes a gate electrode; a source electrode and drain electrodes insulated from the gate electrode; an organic semiconductor layer insulated from the gate electrode, and contacting the source electrode and the drain electrodes; and a gate insulating layer insulating the gate electrode from the source electrode, the drain electrode, and the organic semiconductor layer. The gate insulating layer may be patterned in an island shape to permit adjacent portions of the substrate to flex freely, thereby reducing stress and deformation of the organic TFT and its component layers.

    • In a thin film transistor and a flat panel display device having the same, cross-talk is minimized. The flat panel display device includes a substrate, a first thin film transistor, a second thin film transistor, and a display element. The first thin film transistor includes: a first gate electrode formed on the substrate; a first electrode insulated from the first gate electrode; a second electrode insulated from the first gate electrode and surrounding the first electrode in the same plane; and a first semiconductor layer insulated from the first gate electrode and contacting the first electrode and the second electrode.     • The invention is directed to an improved organic electroluminescent device. In one embodiment, the OLED includes a thin film transistor formed in a non-emission region on an insulating substrate that also includes source and drain electrodes. The OLED further includes a lower electrode formed in an emission region on the insulating substrate and connected to one electrode of the source/drain electrodes through a contact hole. The OLED yet further includes an organic emission layer formed in the emission region on the lower electrode, and an upper electrode formed on the organic emission layer, wherein the lower electrode has a surface with its corners rounded off. The lower electrode acts as a pixel electrode. Having its surface with corners rounded off prevents short-induced defects caused by outgassing.

    • An organic light emitting display and method of fabricating the same are provided, in which surface corner portions of contact holes and via holes are formed to be curved so that short-circuit failures may be reduced. The organic light emitting display includes: a semiconductor layer formed on a non-emission region of an insulating substrate, and having source and drain regions; a thin film transistor formed on the substrate, and having source and drain electrodes electrically connected to the semiconductor layer through a connection hole; a bottom electrode formed on an emission region of the insulating substrate, and connected to one electrode of the source and drain electrodes through a connection hole; an organic emission layer formed on the emission region of the bottom electrode; and a top electrode formed on the organic emission layer, wherein of the connection hole has a curved surface corner portion.
