    • A water-cooled cylinder head is provided for a multicylinder internal-combustion engine having two inlet and outlet valves per cylinder. The cylinder head has a cylinder head cooling space with inflow and outflow openings for the coolant which is integrated in the cylinder head housing and extends above a spherical cap forming a combustion chamber trough. Water cooling spaces are formed at least in areas around a receiving opening for a spark plug arranged centrally in the cylinder head housing and around the two outlet valves. The water cooling spaces are mutually connected by way of a common annulus section. At least the common water cooling jacket annulus section has an essentially constant height toward the combustion chamber trough, so that, at least in this area, the wall thickness of the spherical combustion chamber cap extends in a uniform manner and to close to the combustion chamber trough.

    • In a valve gear-mechanism for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine, the inlet valves (E1, E2) are actuated optionally by first cams on a camshaft via first finger levers (7) or by second cams via second finger levers (9), the first and second finger levers being separate or linked together by coupling pins (13) to which a pressure medium can be applied via a longitudinal channel (15) in the finger lever shaft. In order to be able to cut individual cylinders out, the first cams allocated to the inlet valves (E1) of the cylinder concerned have a zero-lift contour and in the longitudinal channel (15) there is a sealed section (15a) allocated to one of said valves (E1) which can individually be connected to a source of pressure medium so that, when the supply of pressure medium is interrupted, the inlet valves of said cylinder are stopped and, on connection to the source of pressure medium, the inlet valves are actuated in accordance with the contour of the second cam.

    • A steering angle limiter is built into an auxiliary power steering mechanism wherein the limits of steering can be variably preset to any predetermined degree within limits in a continuous manner. The limiter is a device built into the power cylinder. Such device comprises a mechanism having threaded telescopic members. One member is axially fixed and manually rotatable by a tool exteriorally of the cylinder to axially shift the other member to a predetermined distance from a respective end of the power piston. The other member may be non-rotative and threaded to the first member or it may be rotative but threaded to the housing. In either event, it is guided for axial movement. The axial setting of the other member effects a limit stop or abutment for the moving piston for such distance of movement as desired to limit the steering angle of the vehicle wheels in a particular direction of steering. For a double acting cylinder a steering limiter as described is provided for each end of the cylinder. In one embodiment of the invention an arrangement of oil discharge channels in conjunction with a damping piston forces oil being expelled from a pressure chamber to act as a shock absorber to slow down exhaust.All embodiments of the invention have at least one port passing radially through a telescopic member to serve as a throttle for return oil.
