    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately and promptly estimate the remaining life of antifriction bearings on the basis of the state of foreign matter and the condition of lubricating oil, the state of degradation of lubricating oil due to the intrusion of foreign matter into lubricating oil and the intrusion of water, which substantially affects the remaining life of the antifriction bearings, detected through the use of resonance-frequency-band signals and high-frequency signals of an acceleration sensor. SOLUTION: This apparatus for assessing the remaining life of antifriction bearings comprises: a basic data collecting means for collecting vibration signals etc. for every bearing specification such as the part number and name of a maker of each antifriction bearing 3 through the use of an acceleration sensor 4 and an experiment device on the relation between the state of intrusion of foreign matter and vibrations/bearing remaining life of the antifriction bearings 3 and the degradation of lubricating oil and vibrations/bearing remaining life; a measuring means provided for rotating apparatuses 1 and 2 for assessing remaining life and measuring the antifriction bearings 3; and a determining means for estimating the state of intrusion of foreign matter and the state of degradation of lubricating oil in the anti-friction bearings to be assessed 3 and computing the remaining life of the antifriction bearings to be assessed 3 through the use of measurement values determined by the measuring means, determination results of a bearing specification determining means, and data determined by the basic data collecting means.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a deterioration state of a lubricating oil caused by refuse contamination or water contamination into the lubricating oil, which exerts a great influence on a lifetime of a rolling bearing, by using a resonance frequency band signal or a high frequency signal of an acceleration sensor, and estimating its lifetime early and highly accurately based on a detected refuse state and the state of the lubricating oil. SOLUTION: This method includes: a basic data collection step of collecting a vibration signal or the like by an experimental device by using the acceleration sensor 4, relative to each bearing specification such as a model number or a maker name of each rolling bearing, concerning a relation between a refuse contamination state and a vibration/bearing lifetime of the rolling bearing 3 and a relation between deterioration of the lubricating oil and the vibration/bearing lifetime; a measuring step of measuring relative to the rolling bearing 3 whose remaining lifetime is to be diagnosed, provided on rotation apparatuses 1, 2; and a determination step of estimating the refuse contamination state of the rolling bearing 3 and the deterioration state of the lubricating oil by using a measured value determined in the measuring step, a determination result relative to the bearing specifications, and data obtained in the basic data collection step, and calculating the remaining lifetime of the rolling bearing 3 to be diagnosed.     • An invention that utilizes signals from an accelerometer in resonant frequency bands or high frequency bands to, in a cost-effective manner, measure wear particle penetration of lubricant and lubricant degradation, both of which greatly affect prediction of residual service life; and, using as a basis these measurements of wear particle penetration and lubricant degradation, enables accurate estimation of residual service life for rolling bearings in the early stages. The invention is comprised of a means of obtaining fundamental data that uses a testing device to obtain data regarding the relationship, for rolling bearings (3), of wear particle penetration levels to vibration levels and service life, or to obtain data regarding the relationship, for rolling bearings (3), of lubricant degradation levels to vibration levels and service life; a means of measurement, where an accelerometer (4) is used to obtain vibration signals of diagnostic rolling bearings (3) residing on mechanical rotating devices (1, 2) for the purpose of measuring signals in resonant frequency bands only detectable at extremely high levels of sensitivity or signals in high frequency bands; and a means of prediction that uses readings obtained via said means of measurement and data obtained via said means of obtaining fundamental data to predict, for diagnostic rolling bearings (3), wear particle penetration levels and lubricant degradation levels, and to calculate residual service life for diagnostic rolling bearings (3).
