    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately and promptly estimate the remaining life of antifriction bearings on the basis of the state of foreign matter and the condition of lubricating oil, the state of degradation of lubricating oil due to the intrusion of foreign matter into lubricating oil and the intrusion of water, which substantially affects the remaining life of the antifriction bearings, detected through the use of resonance-frequency-band signals and high-frequency signals of an acceleration sensor. SOLUTION: This apparatus for assessing the remaining life of antifriction bearings comprises: a basic data collecting means for collecting vibration signals etc. for every bearing specification such as the part number and name of a maker of each antifriction bearing 3 through the use of an acceleration sensor 4 and an experiment device on the relation between the state of intrusion of foreign matter and vibrations/bearing remaining life of the antifriction bearings 3 and the degradation of lubricating oil and vibrations/bearing remaining life; a measuring means provided for rotating apparatuses 1 and 2 for assessing remaining life and measuring the antifriction bearings 3; and a determining means for estimating the state of intrusion of foreign matter and the state of degradation of lubricating oil in the anti-friction bearings to be assessed 3 and computing the remaining life of the antifriction bearings to be assessed 3 through the use of measurement values determined by the measuring means, determination results of a bearing specification determining means, and data determined by the basic data collecting means.
