The invention is characterised in that the hang off module (210, 710) and one or more of the sheaves (212, 770, 771) having a sheave pivot axis substantially parallel to the tower pivot axis are supported by a support frame (763, 863), which is skiddable along a support frame guide (740) provided in a lower part of the pipeline launch tower, which guide is substantially perpendicular to the tower pivot axis and substantially perpendicular to the tower firing line, such that the one or more sheaves and the hang off module supported by the support frame are skiddable into and out of the tower firing line.
