摘要： A method and apparatus for managing content storage subsystems in a communications network are disclosed. The communications network is equipped with a plurality of content storage subsystems (240). The content storage subsystems (240) store local copies of content to facilitate the delivery and distribution of the content to wireless transmit/receive units, WTRUs (102b). The network, which is equipped with a proxy server (250) and an entry server (260), receives requests for content or general-purpose data referencing content and determines whether the content is stored in the storage subsystems (240). In addition, the network also performs content ingestion in order to store copies of the content in the storage subsystems (240) and content modification in order to move content from one storage location to another to achieve optimal content storage and distribution.

摘要： A tracker application server (AS) instructs a content cache server (CCS) to join a peer-to-peer (P2P) swarm based on the status of the P2P swarm. The tracker AS determines whether to invite a CCS to join the P2P swarm be based on an underlying network condition change, a peer node joining or leaving the P2P swarm, change(s) in traffic condition, location, capability or workload of the peer node(s) in the swarm. The tracker AS sends an invitation message to the CCS, indicating the content of interest and a peer list identifying the peer nodes of the P2P swarm. Upon receiving the invitation message from the tracker AS, the CCS sends a response to the tracker AS. Upon receiving a response indicating the acceptance of the invitation, the tracker AS puts the CCS into the P2P swarm, and the CCS joins the swarm using a P2P protocol.

Any one of the plurality of WTRUs or the remote device may initiate the session release by transmitting a release request. Any one of the plurality of WTRUs may control the transferred communication session and may modify or reject a release request.

摘要： Mobile IP (MIP) protocol may be used to transfer a communication flow between nodes. An indication to transfer the communication flow is received at a first node, and the first node sends a communication flow transfer request via mobile internet protocol. The request is received by a network device. The network device forwards the request for delivery to the second node. The network device receives a response to the request originated from the second node via mobile internet protocol, and instructs a correspondence node to transfer the communication flow to the second node. Upon receiving a response indicating that the communication flow transfer request has been accepted, the first node terminates the communication flow at the first node. The second node resumes the transferred communication flow.

Machine -type communication (MTC) wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) may operate in MTC groups. MTC WTRUs belonging to the same MTC group may use a group-based International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) and a group-based IP address for data transmission. Group-based network registration may be performed. A group-based IP address and radio resources may be proactively allocated for an MTC group. A master MTC may perform network registration/attachment process on behalf of the MTC group. A group of MTC WTRUs may transmit data according to staggered time windows.
