摘要： The problems of the prior art are overcome by the apparatus and method disclosed herein. The reactor vessel of a plasma gasifier is operated at high pressure. To compensate for the negative effects of high pressure, various modifications to the plasma gasifier are disclosed. For example, by moving the slag, more material is exposed to the plasma, allowing better and more complete processing thereof. In some embodiments, magnetic fields are used to cause movement of the slag and molten metal within the vessel. An additional embodiment is to add microwave heating of the slag and/or the incoming material. Microwave heating can also be used as an alternative to plasma heating in a high pressure gasification system.

The apparatus can also be used to reduce the heating requirement for the thermal residence chamber (TRC) used downstream from the gasification system.

摘要： A device has an electronic key (3) that transmits a wireless coded signal and at least one tool (2) that can receive that signal. The coded signal is compared to a coded signal (8) stored in said tool (2). If the coded signal matches the stored signal (8), a switch (7) is closed for a predetermined amount of time. An on/off switch (4) then enables the user of the tool to turn the tool on and off during the predetermined amount of time. After the predetermined amount of time, the switch (7) is opened so that the tool can no longer be used. Opening the switch (7) may be delayed if the tool (2) is in use. The tool (2) may also contain a unique identification code (8) that can be read by various electronic means to identify the tool (2).
