    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combined gasification and vitrification system.SOLUTION: The optimized gasification/vitrification processing system includes: a gasification unit 1 which converts organic materials to a hydrogen-rich gas and ash; a joule heated vitrification unit 4 which converts the ash formed in the gasification unit 1 into glass, in communication with the gasification unit 1; and a plasma 5 which converts elemental carbon and products of incomplete combustion formed in the gasification unit 1 into a hydrogen rich gas, wherein the gasification unit 1 have one or more oxidant injection ports 2. The present invention further includes a feedback control device 10 to control the flow of oxygen, steam, carbon dioxide, air, and combinations thereof through the one or more oxidant injection ports 2 to optimize the conversion of the organic components into a hydrogen-rich gas.
