    • The invention relates to the use of at least one microbiologically produced non-viral substance (anti-sense-oligonucleotides, ribozymes, stabilised ribozymes, aptamers, reverse-image aptamers, chimeric RNA/DNA oligonucleotides, naked plasmid DNA, liposmally encapsulated DNA), especially anti-sense oligonucleotides with specificity for a nucleic acid-target sequence of the gene which codes steroid hormone-receptors and/or steroid hormone-metabolised enzymes, especially for the androgen receptor and/or 5 alpha reductase, in the treatment of acne and acneic dermatoses including acne rosacea. Special anti-sense oligonucleotides and degenerated sequences of said oligonucleotides are preferably selected and introduced into the target cells by liposome-mediated transfection, especially human sebocytes and/or keratinocytes. A specific inhibition of the androgen-induced, specially testerone induced stimulation of the proliferation sebocytes or keratinocytes by the above mentioned anti-sense oligonucleotides was noted and evaluated in said target cells. The inventive effects were proven, for example, by virtue of sebocyte-cell line SZ95 and primary keratinocytes of the skin.
