摘要： An LCD panel includes an array substrate, a color filter substrate positioned above the array substrate, a dielectric layer disposed on the array substrate facing the color filter substrate, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the array substrate and the color filter substrate. The color filter substrate includes a plurality of red pixel regions, green pixel regions, and blue pixel regions, and the dielectric layer has different thickness corresponding to the red pixel regions, the green pixel regions, and the blue pixel regions. Accordingly, the liquid crystal layer has a first thickness corresponding to the blue pixel regions, a second thickness corresponding to the green pixel regions, and a third thickness corresponding to the red pixel regions. The first thickness is less than the second thickness, and the second thickness is less than the third thickness.

摘要： A three-dimensional (3D) display system includes a liquid crystal display and a directional backlight module. The backlight module disposed behind the liquid crystal display includes a light-guide plate, a focusing layer, a left backlight source, a right backlight source, and a first V-shaped micro-grooved and a second V-shaped micro-grooved structures of the light-guide plate. The focusing layer is disposed between the light-guide plate and the liquid crystal display. The 3D display method is to instantly switch on and off the left and the right backlight sources to alternately emit the light from the left side and right side of light-guide plate. By means of the first and the second V-shaped micro-grooved structure, the light transmitted from the light-guide plate is focused by the focusing layer within a particular range of angles and passing through the liquid crystal layer for being alternately projected to form a 3D image.

摘要： A light channeling layer disposed adjacent to the bottom substrate of a transflective display to enhance the back-lighting efficiency. The transflective display has a transmissive area and a reflective area and the transmissive area has a transmission electrode. The light channeling layer comprises a plurality of light conduits, each of which is disposed behind a transmission electrode. The light conduit has a first aperture and a second aperture greater than the first aperture and the first aperture is positioned adjacent to the transmission electrode and a second aperture adjacent to the back substrate, so that light from a back-light source that enters into the light conduct through the second aperture is channeled to the transmission electrode through the first aperture.
