SOLUTION: A flag, specifying the priority in reading and validity of skipping, is set by units of each item of an object read in a "read definition" which defines the method of character recognition described in the business form. A business form reading device decides that information is not filled in for the item, where availability of skipping is set or for an item of low-priority, and character recognition is executed, when the number of character string extracted from the business form is less than a targeted item. Thus, correspondence relation for image data of the business form can be secured, and the accuracy of recognition can be improved on the item which is important for transaction.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sharply reduce the response time between a terminal and a server by correcting image data without transmitting any multi-level image to the server. SOLUTION: A registering terminal for performing a registration task prepares two kinds of image data, that is, a multi-level image and a binary image by using image data acquired from an image input device. The binary image and the multi-level image are stored into the storage part of the registering terminal, and only the binary image is transmitted to the server and registered in the DB. A correcting terminal which performs a correcting task acquires the binary image registered in the server, and executes correction processing. When performing the correction processing for which the multi-level image is required, the registering terminal performs the correction processing by using the multi-level image, and transmits the result to the correcting terminal. Alternatively, the registering terminal transmits the multi-level image to the correcting terminal, and the correcting terminal performs the correction processing by using the multi-level image.
