    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time required for mutual authentication in a system in which mutual authentication is required among a plurality of devices. SOLUTION: A host device or a client device to be mutually authenticated is provided with a means for determining whether or not a session key held by each of them required in simple mutual authentication processing in which only a short a time is required for mutual authentication is valid for the other device which is trying to perform mutual authentication processing; and a means for transferring information required for achieving the means.
