    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discrete track type perpendicular magnetic recording medium which is excellent in crystal orientation and perpendicular magnetic anisotropy of a magnetic recording layer, obviates deterioration of the magnetic characteristics of the magnetic recording layer due to processing, is inexpensive in manufacturing cost, and does not require a complicated manufacturing process and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The perpendicular magnetic recording medium has rugged pattern structure comprising projecting parts corresponding to the positions of data tracks 55 for recording magnetic information and recessed parts corresponding to the positions between the data tracks on the surface on a medium floating surface side of a soft magnetic backing layer 52 and is laminated with a base layer 53 and the magnetic recording layer 54 for crystal orientation control along the rugged pattern structure on the projecting parts and the recessed parts without omission.       SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording and reproducing device provided with a magnetic recording medium, a magnetic head with a magnetic recording head and a reproducing head, a read/write IC, and a transmission line for connecting the magnetic recording head and the reproducing head to the read/write IC, the transmission line is characterized by having a groove formed along the direction of a current, or the transmission line is characterized by having a slit formed along the direction of the a current, or the transmission line is characterized by having a pit not penetrating the conductor, or the transmission line is characterized by having a hole penetrating the conductor.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase data transfer speed by providing a data format with a recording medium constituted of plural spiral tracks and thereby reducing the access frequency of a recording reproducing element. SOLUTION: Two spiral data tracks are formed from the center of disk medium towards the outer periphery, recording and reproduction and performed by using a multi-head against the recording medium having such n-turn spiral format. In a device having a concentric format and a recording/reproducing element, after one round portion of the disk is transferred from the sector 1 to sector n in the track N, the recording/reproducing element seeks the next track N+1, to have a rotational delay until the target sector n+1 appears, and transfers data as the sector n+1, sector n+2,.... In the combination of a single spiral format and a recording/reproducing element, are continuously transferred in order the sector 1, sector 2,... sector n without the need of seek for each round and a rotational delay.
