    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability of jointing an interior material and appearance of a joint.
SOLUTION: Interior materials 10, 10 of a railway vehicle are divided into several pieces in a longitudinal direction, to generate a joint. The interior material 10 comprises two face plates 11, 12 and a core material 13, which are jointed by adhesion. An end of the interior material 10 is recessed, where buffer materials 15, 16 are arranged and fixed by adhesive. The buffer material 15 is thin and arranged in the indentation. The buffer material 16 projects from the indentation. The buffer material 16 is softer than the buffer material 15. When the buffer materials 15, 16 are butted and assembled together, the buffer material 16 is compressed. When used in an air-conditioning duct, the buffer materials 15, 16 contact with each other to perform sealing.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drop drain water and rain water on a track by ensuring a water discharge route onto a track beam on a skirt that covers underfloor equipment and a truck, in a saddle type monorail vehicle traveling on the track beam. SOLUTION: The saddle type monorail vehicle is provided with the skirt 3 for covering the underfloor equipment and the truck. The drain water and the rain water from an air conditioner 4 installed on a roof body 1a reach from a water discharge pipe 6 on the roof body 1a and a rain gutter 7 provided on both end edges in a vehicle body width direction of the roof body 1a to a funnel 8, further reach to a funnel 13 through a drain pipe 9 and further reach onto the track beam 2 through a flowing route formed on a bone member 12 provided on a surface plate of the skirt 3. The drain water and the rain water are not applied to a vehicle and a person traveling on a road or the like under the track beam 2. Further, since the water distribution pipe 16 is built-in in the skirt 3, the water distribution pipe 16 can be removed from the vehicle body 1 only by the work for removing the skirt 3 form a base frame 1d. • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail vehicle having a sound absorbing structure capable of reducing the manufacturing cost and increasing the sound absorbing ratio in an objective frequency band.
SOLUTION: A second sound absorbing material 20 is laminated on a first sound absorbing material 15, the surface area of the sound absorbing material exposed to the noise generated in an underfloor wheel chamber is increased corresponding to a peripheral surface part of the second sound absorbing material 20, and a top part 50a of a fixing tool 50 located in a vicinity of the increased surface area is functioned as a sound reflecting member. Thus, the ratio of the sound wave which is reflected by the reflecting member, and then, incident on the sound absorbing material and absorbed (damped) thereby is increased, and the sound absorbing ratio in the frequency band between f1 and f2 can be increased. Further, the entire thickness (the height in the vertical direction) of the sound absorbing material to a frame 18 for giving the sound source side surface of a rail vehicle is increased, and the sound absorbing ratio of the low frequency band can be increased. While suppressing the increase in the number of components as much as possible, the increase of the manufacturing cost is minimized, and the sound absorbing ratio in the frequency band for the sound absorption can be increased.
