    • PURPOSE:To prevent an interference of a knife edge and the increase of a head gap even if a medium has abnormalities such as wrinkles and folds, by a method wherein a part of a paper presser member having an elastic body construction with a spring effect is shaped to be slightly projected from the bottom of the paper presser member. CONSTITUTION:A paper presser member 1 is molded using Duracon and partially shaped to have a cutout groove 2. A guide member 3 inside the cutout groove 2 is made of an elastically constructed body having a spring effect. Moreover, a paper guide surface 3a of the guide member 3 has specific irregularities, whereby an uncontinuous paper carry path area AA' in the vicinity of a printing head 4 between a carry guide 5 and a knife 6 is made a continuous carry path. Therefore, when a medium 8 is carried in an x2 direction through the uncontinuous carry area AA', the medium 8 is smoothly fed with no possibility of coming into collision with a knife edge 6a and jamming. On the other hand, if a platen 7 was retracted during printing, the guide member 3 is deflected and, thereby, the printing head 4 and the paper presser member 1 are levitated to prevent the increase of a head gap.

    • PURPOSE:To make correction on the carrier error of an optical reader, by providing a mechanism which calculates the correcting value of the carrier error from the optically read results of marks provided on a medium at standard distances and a storage section which stores the correcting value. CONSTITUTION:By depressing a correcting value storage switch 107, a medium 200 for storing correcting value is carried in the direction of the arrow 105 and optically read. Marks 201 and 202 are printed on the medium 200 with a fixed distance between them and an optical reading section 106 carries out reading operations along a reading center line 203. The read results of the section 106 are processed at a control processing section 101. The processing section 101 calculates the optically read number of times until detecting the mark 202 by using the mark 201 in the leading edge section of the medium as a reference position for reading and calculates the carrier error correcting value of this carrier system from the difference between the calculated number of times and a previously calculated standard optically read number of times containing no carrier error. The correcting value thus calculated is stored in a nonvolatile storage section 108 and a carrier error is corrected. Therefore, the accuracy of the optically reading position of this carrier system can be improved without improving its mechanical accuracy.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the reading position precision by installing a mechanism for correcting the transport error from the optically readed results for the marks on a medium which keeps a standard distance. CONSTITUTION:Marks 201 and 202 are printed, keeping a prescribed interval, onto a medium, and an optical reading part 106 performs reading operation along a reading center line 203, and the results are memorized into the memory part 108 in a control processing part 101. A control processing part 101 searches the optically readed results memorized into the memory part 108 and detects the mark 201 at the head part of the medium, and sets said mark as a reading standard position. Then, the mark 202 is detected by searching the vicinity of the standard position on the optically readed results of the mark 202, and the number of times of optical reading ranging from the mark 201 and 202 is calculated, and the transport quantity error in the reading at this time is calculated from the difference between the number of times of standard optical reading which is previously calculated, and the transport quantity error is corrected according to said error. Thus, the precision for the optical reading position is improved.

CONSTITUTION:The insertion entrance of a bankbook 6 is formed with an upper guide 2 and a lower first guide 1, and a magnetic recording head 5 is provided backward and forward movably in the aperture part formed between lower first and second guides 1 and 3. The part facing the aperture part and a part of a movable guide 4 facing them are inclined slightly downward, and guides 1 and 3 and the guide 4 are made intricated to each other as comb teeth to prevent the bankbook 6 from slipping to the outside of a carrying path. Since the movable guide 4 is turnable around one point, the movable guide 4 is withdrawn in accompanying with the movement of the magnetic recording head 5 in case of recording, and the movable guide 4 is returned to the original position simultaneously with the end of recording.
