    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI apparatus which has a homogeneous static magnetic field with an increase in openness and is equipped with a static magnetic field generating device which hardly vibrates.
      SOLUTION: A gradient magnetic field generating part is disposed in a depressed part on a surface (a facing surface) on the side of an imaging region on a pair of vessels of superconducting magnets placed to oppose mutually in a manner the imaging region is located between the vessels. A through-hole penetrating from the facing surface of the vessel of the superconducting magnet to the surface (an opposite surface) of the other side is provided, and a reinforcing member for increasing rigidity is fixed on the opposite surface. Since the gradient magnetic field generating part is disposed in the depressed part, and a current supply cable is pulled in from the through-hole, the openness of an imaging space is improved. Since inner walls of the through-hole works as a support post, increased rigidity of the opposite surface results in improved rigidity of the facing surface. Consequently, the vibrations transmitted from the gradient magnetic field generating part are suppressed.
