    • A probe is displaced relative to a recording medium according to a drive voltage. A chip is provided at an end of the probe. The chip serves to form pits and projections on a surface of the recording medium according to a recording voltage (Vp2) and serves to output a current signal responsive to the pits and projections with a reproducing voltage (Vp1) applied. A voltage generator generates the recording voltage and the reproducing voltage based on address and data signals. A sample-hold unit samples at a specified frequency a current signal obtained from a no-recording area of the recording medium by the chip and produces an output voltage signal. A reproducing unit demodulates and reproduces increment and decrement of the current signal obtained from a recording area of the recording medium by the chip. A control unit controls recording and reproduction. The control unit outputs such a drive voltage that the interval between the chip and the recording medium is maintained constant by feedback control based on the voltage signal derived from the sample-hold unit. The control unit controls the recording so that no-recording areas and recording areas are arranged alternately.

    • A microrelay including a substrate having a pair of fixed contacts fixed on a surface thereof and a movable section having a pair of movable contacts opposed to the pair of fixed contacts. The movable section includes a frame for fixing the movable section to the substrate; a movable body having the pair of movable contacts and a pair of magnetic bodies; and a coupling section for pivotally supporting the movable body to the frame. The substrate has a pair of magnetic force generating devices for supplying the pair of magnetic bodies with a magnetic force, thereby selectively causing contact between one of the pair of movable contacts and the fixed contact opposed to the one of the pair of movable contacts; and a magnetic force controlling device for applying the magnetic force generated by each of the pair of magnetic force generating devices only to the magnetic body corresponding to each of the magnetic force generating device. A method for producing such a microrelay includes the steps of depositing an insulating film on the surface of the substrate; forming the pair of fixed contacts each formed of a conductive film on the insulating film; and forming a groove at the surface of the substrate between the pair of fixed contacts.

    • An optical card recording and reproducing device including an optical head for emitting a light beam spot to the optical card having a plurality of parallel data tracks to which data is recorded; a transfer system for transferring the optical card and/or the optical head; and a track number confirmation means for confirming the track number recorded in the address data area in the data track of the optical card. The optical card recording and reproducing device also includes a transfer stopping means for stopping the optical head when an incorrect track number is deleted. The system minimizes the relative transfer distance between the optical card and the optical head, and at the same time, the total relative transfer distance of the optical card and/or the optical head when confirming the track number more than twice. Thus, the total time required for track number confirmation can be greatly shortened.
