    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a highly accurate vascular endothelial function evaluation even when the change in a blood vessel viscosity is caused.SOLUTION: An apparatus for evaluating a vascular endothelial function includes: cuffs 11 and 51 that are wrapped around the predetermined part of the body of a subject; a controlling unit 20 that controls the pressurization and the depressurization of the cuffs; a cuff pressure detecting unit 31 that detects a cuff pressure from an output of a pressure sensor 54 connected to the cuffs; a pulse wave detecting unit 32 that detects a pulse wave from the output of the pressure sensor; and an analyzing unit 33 that analyzes the detected pulse wave, wherein the cuff pressure controlling unit 20 performs continuous pressure stimulation on the predetermined part of the body of a subject for a predetermined time by the cuffs, and the analyzing unit 33 evaluates the vascular endothelial function by making comparison using vessel viscoelastic indexes which are obtained from the pulse wave detected in two of zones before, during, and after the pressure stimulation, and which exclude an amplitude of the pulse wave.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for simply and easily evaluating vascular endothelial functions with high precision.
      SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: a first cuff 11, to be wound around a first site of the body of a subject; a second cuff 51, to be wound around a second site of the body of the subject; a controller 20 that is a cuff controller for controlling a pressurization and decompression of the cuff; a cuff pressure detector 31 for detecting the cuff pressure from an output of a pressure sensor 54 connected to the second cuff 51; a pulse wave detector 32 for detecting a pulse wave from the output of the pressure sensor 54; and an analyzer 33 for analyzing the detected pulse wave. The controller 20 performs continuous pressure stimulation on the first site of the body of the subject for predetermined time of period using the first cuff 11, and the analyzer 33 evaluates the vascular endothelial function by comparing the pulse waves detected before and after the continuous pressure stimulation is performed.
