摘要： A pulsating sound wave beam is transmitted into an object using an array-type ultrasonic wave transducer which consists of a plurality of elements; the reflected sound waves are received using said transducer while electronically focusing the reflected sound waves depending upon an estimated speed of sound in the object, and the beam width of sound waves is measured repeatedly near a particular reflector while successively changing the estimated speed of sound. The estimated speed of sound of when the beam width is minimal is the mean speed of sound of the object in practice, and the beam width at that moment serves as an indication of acoustical homogeneity of the object.

摘要： An ultrasonic flow mapping apparatus transmits and reflects waves from sampling points on a two-dimensional cross-section. The waves are detected while transmitting repeatedly ultrasonic pulses. The phase shifts of different reflected waves are calculated, and displayed in color to show a distribution of blood flow velocity. Artifact due to reflected waves from body organs, which remain even by using MTI filters, is detected from phase signals, which have not passed through the MTI filters, and the artifact is removed by lowering display brightness for a sampling point corresponding to a relevant detection output.

摘要： A method and apparatus for sterilizing water containing pathogen protozoa having shells in a simple manner without negative influencing the environment is disclosed. Ultrasonic waves are applied to drinking water to form fine cavitation bubbles which are used to destroy the shells of pathogenic protozoa. The residual chlorine in the drinking water along with an oxidizing action and effect of the ultrasonic wave, permit not only sterilization but also deodorization and decolorization.
