摘要： A process for producing a film pattern, in which a layer of photosensitive resin composition is formed on a substrate and exposed selectively through a mask to light to thereby obtain a film pattern provided on its surface with protrusions and depressions without the need to remove the layer of photosensitive resin composition at unexposed regions or exposed regions by, for example, development; and a photosensitive resin composition for use in the above process for producing a film pattern. There is provided a process for producing a patterned film, comprising the steps of preparing a photosensitive resin composition that upon light irradiation, generates an acid or a base and is hardened; coating substrate (2) with the photosensitive resin composition to thereby form photosensitive resin composition layer (1) of given thickness; and exposing the photosensitive resin composition layer (1) selectively through mask (3) to light so as to travel at least portion of the photosensitive resin composition at unexposed regions toward the exposed regions and further effect hardening thereof, thereby obtaining patterned film (1A) furnished on its surface with protrusion/depression pattern.

First and second retardation films each having slow axes orthogonal to each other are disposed between one of the polarization plates and the liquid crystal cell. The product .DELTA.n.sub.1 .times.d.sub.1 of the refractive index anisotropy .DELTA.n.sub.1 and the thickness d.sub.1 of the first retardation film on the side of one of the polarization plates is set to a value greater than the product .DELTA.n.sub.2 .times.d.sub.2 of the refractive index anisotropy .DELTA.n.sub.2 and the thickness d.sub.2 of the second retardation film. The viewing angle of the liquid crystal display panel in the left-right direction is expanded by this arrangement.

摘要： A multigap color LCD device which prevents display non-uniformity arising from non-uniformity in cell thickness. The external measurements of a blue color filter within a LCD device are fabricated not to overlap the source buses and the gate buses, which surround an opposing picture element electrode, and the external measurements of a green color filter in the LCD device are fabricated to overlap a pair of source buses and a pair of gate buses, which surround the opposing picture element electrode. The distance between the green color filter and both the source buses and the gate buses, is set so that it approximately equals the distance between the blue color filter and the picture element electrode. In addition to liquid crystal, spacers are inserted between the two substrates to maintain uniformity in cell thickness. Red color filters may be the same width as the blue color filters, or wider, extending to the proximity of the blue color filters.
