    • A fluid cooled cylinder liner for mounting in a cylinder of an internal combustion engine is provided. The fluid cooled cylinder liner includes a collar and a seal element. The collar has an outer circumferential surface dimensioned with respect to the inner circumference of the cylinder so as to be in substantially fluid sealing contact therewith, an annular cooling fluid channel formed radially inwardly of the outer circumferential surface, and a radial bore extending radially from the fluid channel through the outer circumferential surface and having one end communicated with the fluid channel and an opposite end communicated with a branch bore of the crankcase of the engine. The seal element substantially seals the interface between the branch bore of the crankcase and the radial bore of the collar of the cylinder liner against the leakage of cooling fluid.

    • An injection moulding assembly (10) comprising a male moulding member (11) surrounded by a female moulding member (12) forming a void (13) between them that upon injection of molten plastics into the mould a container can be formed. The moulding assembly includes a guide rod (14) and ejection flange (16) and a pair of ejection flange guide rods (17 and 18), an air vent valve (15) and an injection passage (19).     • A cylinder head sealing arrangement for reciprocating piston engines, especially internal combustion engines. An end of each cylinder liner that faces a cylinder head is provided with a raised collar that includes a centering portion. A preferably metallic combustion chamber seal in the form of a ring having a constant thickness in a starting position is guided with clearance fit. When cylinder head screws are tightened, the ring undergoes a plastic deformation of at least one end face. The ring has an inner surface that is guided relative to the centering portion only via a cylindrical guide region of the ring or the raised collar. The free space between the ring and the centering portion increases continuously proceeding from the guide region so that after plastic deformation the ring rests flat upon the cylinder liner beyond the region of a radius that defines a transition between the liner and the collar.

    • A crankshaft rotational support for an internal combustion engine having a crankshaft supported by rotational support elements spaced from one another along the longitudinal direction of the internal combustion engine is provided. The crankshaft rotational support includes a plurality of bearing blocks and a plurality of bearing covers. Stiffening elements extend longitudinally for interconnecting H-shaped side projections of the bearing covers to one another. The bearing blocks, the bearing covers, and the stiffening elements collectively form a unit which is cast as an integral unit during a casting process with the cast bearing covers and the cast bearing blocks being separable from one another along a break line. The side projections and the stiffening elements each have an open profile that does not comprise any fully encircled apertures in which a casting sand core may remain after casting.

    • A cylinder head and combustion chamber sealing arrangement that is subdivided into a sealing element in the cylinder liner region (especially for sealing gas) and a sealing element in the cylinder block region. Both sealing elements are made of solid metal. The sealing element for gas sealing, which is disposed in the liner-collar recess, is stressed in a certain range beyond the yield limit of the material by tightening the cylinder head screws. To improve the gas sealing, on the one hand a circumferential groove is provided in the cylinder head opposite the recess in the cylinder liner collar, and on the other hand the recess itself is provided with either a circumferential groove or a circumferential rib. By this means, the liner sealing element is stressed beyond the material yield level in the specific region of its outer and inner perimeters.
