摘要： A process for recovering sterols from organic material containing sterols and sterol derivatives. In a first step (a) the organic material is reacted with at least one of polyols, polyamines, alkanolamines or monohydric alcohols to increase the amount of free sterols in the organic material; (b) reacting residual reactants, and their esters or amides with epoxydated components; and (c) separating the free sterols from the mixture by short path distillation, thin film evaporation, or flash evaporation. The recovered sterols can be further purified by a crystallization step.

摘要： The disclosed invention refers to a process for obtaining fatty acid alkyl esters, rosin acids and sterols from crude tall oil (CTO), which is characterized by the following steps: (a) reacting the free fatty acids present in the CTO with lower alcohols; (b) esterifying the sterols in the CTO with boric acid or transesterifying the sterols with a catalyst; (c) separating the fatty acid lower alkyl esters and rosin acids from the remaining sterol borate esters or sterol esters of fatty acids to produce a stream of sterol esters; (d) separating the fatty acid alkyl esters from the rosin acids to produce a first stream of fatty acid alky esters and a second stream of rosin acids; and (e) converting the sterol esters into the free sterols to produce a third stream of free sterols.

摘要： The invention relates to a process for production of fatty acids directly from soapstock generated in the alkali refining process including the steps of (a) adding a lipase directly to the alkaline soapstock to facilitate hydrolysis of glycerides without prior neutralisation, (b) neutralizing and splitting the soaps with strong acids, and (c) separating the fatty acid phase from the aqueous phase by settling and/or centrifugation. A second embodiment is a process in which the soapstock is first neutralized and split with strong acids, followed by adding a lipase to facilitate glyceride hydrolysis, and separating the fatty acid phase. The fatty acids so obtained can be esterified with C1-C6 alcohols using a lipase that is selective for fatty acids and does not transesterify the sterolesters, and the fatty acid esters and sterolesters are separated by distillation.The sterolesters are useful as supplements for food, as pharmaceutical agents for lowering cholesterol and as biofuel and biodiesel.

The multipoint recorder is characterized by a group of auxiliary contacts in said selection mechanism interspersed with the group of measuring point selection contacts, said auxiliary contacts being switched with a given delay behind switching of the measuring point selection contacts so that the auxiliary contacts are sequentially closed as the selection mechanism switches between measuring point selection contacts. In response to the switching of said auxiliary contacts, means are provided for locking said balancing motor or performing alarm operations or other functions while the selection mechanism switches from one measuring point to another.

At least one connector portion has an inner collar in which the end of the fibre is disposed to lie in eccentric relationship to the longitudinal axis of the collar. This inner collar is rotatably disposed in a hole in an outer collar with the hole being eccentrically disposed with respect to the longitudinal axis of its outer collar. By angular adjustment of the inner and outer collars with respect to each other the respective ends of the optical fibre lines can be positioned with respect to each. At least one inner collar can be of transparent material so that optical leakage occurring at the connector can be easily detected.
