    • This invention relates to coating compositions based on aqueous polyurethane dispersions, as well as the use of the coating compositions for the production of top coats or finishes on flexible substrates, particularly on PVC. The present coating agents contain an aqueous polyurethane dispersion having certain physico-chemical properties and the following composition of the solid substance:(A) from about 30 to 60%, by weight, of a hexane diol-1,6-polyester diol having a molecular weight of from about 500 to 6000;(B) up to about 8%, by weight, of a relatively low molecular weight triol having a molecular weight of from about 91 to 399;(C) from about 3 to 30%, by weight, of one or more mono- or poly-functional compounds bearing cationic and/or anionic groups and/or containing non-ionic polyoxyethylene segments;(D) from about 20 to 50%, by weight, of a diisocyanate corresponding to the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, which may be the same or different, each represents hydrogen or a straight- or branched-chain aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms;(E) from about 2.5 to 20%, by weight, of other aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic diisocyanates; and(F) from about 0.5 to 4%, by weight, of hydrazine; and optionally conventional additives, auxiliaries and catalysts.

    • The present invention relates to coating compositions containing(A) 70 to 98% by weight, based on the sum of components (A) and (B), of(a) isocyanate-free polymers of ethylenically unsaturated monomers and/or polyurethanes or blocked isocyanate prepolymers, and(b) optional organic solvents, wherein component (A) contains no significant quantities of groups capable of reacting with component (B) or starting materials thereof and has a viscosity (at 23.degree.     • A process is described for the preparation of predominantly linear polyurethane solutions which comprises(a) reacting(A) an organic diisocyanate or diisocyanate mixture optionally containing small portions of a triisocyanate with(B) one or more polyhydroxyl compounds which are predominantly bifunctional and generally have molecular weights of from about 400 to 5000 and(C) optionally one or more chain lengthening agents having at least two isocyanate reactive hydrogen atoms and molecular weights of from about 32 to 399, wherein the proportion of isocyanate groups to the number of isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms is in the range of from about 0.9:1 to 1:0.9, and(b) when the polyurethane formed has reached the required viscosity, adding a monofunctional, low molecular weight oxime having a molecular weight of from about 73 to 325, preferably butanone oxime, to the reaction mixture as chain breaking agent in a quantity equivalent to or in excess of the equivalents of unreacted isocyanate groups.The new chain breaking agents are simple compounds which effect rapid chain breaking and have no undesirable side effects as regards subsequent breakdown of the chains and even enable further synthesizing reactions to be carried out if desired, for example with diamines.

    • This invention relates to new liquid or fluid polyamine/carbonic acid salt compositions free from crystalline content and their preparation from mixtures containing at least one aliphatic or cycloaliphatic polyamine, an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydroxyamine having at least one hydroxyl group and at least one amino group, and water and optionally diluents and/or conventional auxiliary agents and additives, by the addition of carbon dioxide. The proportion of polyamine to hydroxyamine is in the range of from about 95:5 to 10:90 % by weight, the quantity of water added is from about 0.01 to 5 mol of H.sub.2 O per amine equivalent (but at least 1 mol of water per mol of CO.sub.2) and the quantity of CO.sub.2 added is from about 0.01 to 0.99 mol of CO.sub.2 per amine equivalent. The invention further relates to the use of these liquid polyamine/carbonic acid salt compositions for the production of foamed polyurethane ureas, especially for coating substrates or for the production of sheet products, using prepolymers preferably containing blocked isocyanate groups and the liquid polyamine/carbonic acid salt compositions as chain lengthening agents and/or crosslinking agents and at the same time as physiologically harmless blowing agents.
